Biggest Failure

Which ride was the biggest failure. Take into effect publicity, rideabliliy, and financial issues.

I would have to say Ring Racer at Nurburgring. The ride was supposed to have opened two years ago, and was such a mess it is still in testing.

But Intamins didn't get stuck in a testing phase and generate almost no revenue for the Park. Given KDK was closed halfway through its either its opening or second season because of that huge mechanical malfunction, it still attracted thousands of guests in that timeframe.

RingRacer is just a massive embarrassment for both S&M Power and Nurburgring.

I LOVE BOBSLED RIDES! and Flying Turns will have its success just you wait! lol. Even though so far its been a disaster. But hey it didn't cost nearly as much as RingRacer and didn't have nearly as much hype. Therefore id still go with RingRacer.

Vertigo at Walibi Belgium... A few years trying to get it up and running for more than a day and in the end it just got ripped out anyways. Truely a massive failure and a huge waste of money and yet Walibi Belgium still haven't got a replacement or any new coaster.

Could have sworn there was a topic like this floating about recently?

Anyway, the biggest failure without a doubt, has to be Vertigo and Walibi Belgium?

To be delayed by a year is one thing, but to only officially open for 11 days, before closing and later being removed is a massive FAIL.

Obviously not the worst failure, but you could put forwards a case for Drayton's Shockwave.

Not because it went massively over-budget or frequently breaks or anything, in fact it seems to work fine. It's just that in the 1994 "coaster wars" that decided which parks would come out on top, they MASSIVELY lost out with the dud of the three. Nemesis was a brilliant coaster. PMBO was a brilliantly marketable coaster and both did wonders for their respective parks. But Shockwave is neither, and you can pretty much pinpoint that as where the widening gulf between Alton and Drayton started, with Drayton only just beginning to recover the gap with Thomas Land.

^Because it was plagued with problems and the park finally decided to cut their losses and scrap it.

^ There must have been more to it than that though. They wouldn't just give up after investing millions, for 11 days worth of operation. Wouldn't be surprised if Doppelmayr threw in the towel too.

Jubilee Odyssey.
WTF? how?

I wouldn't go as far as saying its the biggest failure, but Vekoma did mess up with the design. During its first year, it stalled many times, so a large section of track, including the horse shoe turn and sidewinder, were lowered. Which obviously helped, but high winds still cause it be grounded. Plus the park that run it seems to be a bit stubborn when it comes to testing at the start of the year, by testing it without the wind shields and only a few dummies, resulting in more stalling issues.

Also, the operation of the coaster used to be pretty poor, it would have been a rare occasion to see it running before 2010. Things have changed now, thankfully, its a **** awsome, brutal coaster.

Flying Turns.

All that needs to be said.

To be fair, Mr. Knoebel owns his own limber yard so not that much money was lost, there isnt really must to say it was a failure.
