All I was doing was putting feelers out there to see if anyone would go for it. Not to moan about the lack of busses to and from the park etc. There are some big things happening this year, and something happening at the park won't tell us.

posting from somewhere in the world...

Raybould, I think the transport concerns are valid. It appears that people would be LOVE to ride t'Ultimate at night but it's not enough to warrant a burdenous journey for those who live more than 2 hours drive away or for poor people without cars. The crux of the matter is they want people to come though the doors for such an event, the transport issue needs to be addressed*. What if they run this event on, for example, a Saturday night when public transport is available in the morning. The event takes place when it's dark and finished about 9pm...oh look, no buses and people are stranded at the park and/or have pay for expensive taxis.

*Yes, I know driving distances and times cannot be altered.

Indeed, what Ian said. Unfortunately it's not as simple as I'd go if they did it, because they make it incredibly difficult for me to go, or want to go. The park has nothing else to offer other than Ultimate and I can't get there.

Ultimate, Raptor Attack, Skeleton Cove, Whirlwind, Skate Karts, Birds of Prey Center, Eagles Claw. They have done a lot to get that bus service to actually come through the park gates! Taken a long time for that to happen. Yes I understand it is a problem, but it was not the point of this topic. I have kinda done this topic for the park to see if people would pay a little extra just to ride it at night. I couldn't make a proper poll in the general discussions part, no options for me to add a poll!

I know what you're saying Mark, but the park also need feedback.

If the question is simply "would you ride at night?" and there was 50 "yes" and 5 "no", then it's a 80% positive result.

However, if out of those 50 yes votes, 48 couldn't make it to any night event anyway - then the question is useless.

Ian and Nic would both ride it at night, as would Joey - so their answer is YES. However, the reality is that they probably couldn't go to an event (or justify it) specifically for night riding.

All feedback is useful to the park. You can never have too much information.

Lightwater Valley need to invest in a bus which runs to the park exclusively from Ripon.
I'd go so far as to say they need to have a bus service that goes to and from Thirsk. At least Thirsk has a railway station on the main line, even if most trains don't stop there. People would probably have to change trains at York, but it would open up a lot more travel options.

Ripon is still a bit too far off the beaten track for those of us who are forced to rely on public transport.

As for The Ultimate at night, yes I'd probably be up for doing that as a one-off or annual thing... IF they improved transport links to and from the park. Again, without transport links it's all pointless. I only live 30 minutes away from the park, but other than the last CF Live we had there, I've not been to the park for several years. Something's badly wrong when it's easier for me to travel hundreds of miles to the Merlin parks than it is to get to a park just over 20 miles away from where I live.
