Ive rode SLC's when brand new and then again 10 years later and I can honestly say the difference is astonishing. When brand new they ride as smooth as a B&M and I cant stress that enough - but its unbelievable how much 10 years of g force can batter and manipulate poor quality track and trains, because with the smoothness of a brand new SLC in mind, a well worn SLC is a completely different experience. The track rusts and loses its colour, becomes bumpy because of the rust and disfigurement and the trains take a battering from this too causing them to feel 'loose', not riding true inside the track constantly wobbling side to side, and constantly being shunted from the car behind through inversions because the coupling has worn out. I wouldn't even like to guess what the ride experience is like on a 20 year old SLC. It's odd because the same design of track 30 years old (typical corkscrews) yes was rough but never this bad.

Its mostly evident when you go up the lift hill and you can see how wonky the track is. You can replace wheels, then bogie assembelies, then full trains and even track sections but the number 1 fundamental problem is still there and always will be. The g forces are just to intense for the design and quality of the track.

Brand new it feels like you're riding a high quality roller coaster
10 years on it feels like an arcade ride or something from a fairground
