Worst coasters you've ridden (Bottom 5/10)

This topic might already exist, but I couldn't find it :/
So, which are the worst coasters that you've ridden to date?
With a little help from coaster counter I've figured my list out:
(from the bottom)

1. Superman: Escape from Krypton - such a dull ride, acceleration wasn't as powerful as one would've thought and that is all. I'm glad I didn't have the opportunity to ride it with forward looking trains, its said that it was even worse back then. Plus it broke down frequently.

2. Volare, Prater - Sorry but this particular coaster does its best to kill you...
3. Blue Tornado - Simply said, awful, new trains wouldn't do any damage, Gardaland
4. Master Thai - It looks so innocent, but it is a painful ride
5. Pakal - Same for this, vile Wild Mouse
6. Wilde Maus, Prater - Well some braking would really help this ride, the last few hills almost throw you out of the car
7. Explorer, Mirabilandia - Stopping the ride on the heavily banked turn, whatever you do, sit on the left side of the train

Re: Bottom 10

Again, I'm not going to put them an order, but I'll run through some that would be in the bottom ten, not including kiddy creds.

X:/NWO - No explanation needed

Saw - I do really enjoy the indoor section, and I like the layout of the whole coaster, but it is just too painful for me to ride/enjoy.

Speed: No Limits - Another unpleasent Eurofighter, which rattles like mad and gives me a head ache after every ride.

Reverchon/Zamperla Spinning Mice

Tornado - PdA - It's comfortable enough, but it just doesn't do anything, and it feels like it's going to stall on every element.

Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit - I just dont get it. Too many MCBR's, the music doesn't fit the ride, and it's fairly uncomfortable.

Mumbo Jumbo - I might have to ride this again just to confirm, but from what I remember, I wasn't impressed, at all.

Re: Bottom 10

I don't really have a top 10.. So here's a choice selection of disappointing rides:

Magnus Colossus - Terra Mítica

dkjdc08e8002k4kgq5pj81.jpg

This is the worst ride I have ever ridden. It actually bounces around the track and jarred my back.

Other mentions;

Expedition GeForce - Literally ****. I was hanging out of the cars sideways going round the overbanks. So slow </3

Tornado - Parque de Attraciones. Slow. Awful.

Stunt Fall - Warner Madrid. The most pointless ride ever invented. Ridiculous station and seating arrangement.

Stampida - Worst rehab on a ride ever, Kumbak literally raped it pieces.

Furius Baco - Bounce bounce shake bounce.

Re: Bottom 10

After 'carefully' going through my list and deleting all the kiddie coasters (even though a few are quite deserving of going in my bottom 10, but I just don't see the point in including them), good coasters and "mediocre but not THAT bad" coasters, I couldn't come up with just 10, so here's my bottom 12 instead...

12. Manhattan Express, New York, New York Hotel - Awful restraints and just plain painful. Gets plus points for its setting which saves it from the bottom 10.

11. X:/No Way Out, Thorpe Park - Pointless and sickly. Not a good combination.

10. Grizzly, California's Great America - I don't know why this always seem to come right at the bottom of coaster polls, as it's not painful whatsoever... because it's so slow and pointless. It needs a lift hill to help the train get up the first hill, and the ride does utterly nothing thereafter.

9. Stampida, PortAventura - Crap coaster, crap operators, just, crap.

8. Grizzly, Kings Dominion - Definitely not the worst of Kings Dominion's woodies, but still not deserving of getting out of the bottom 10.

7. G-Force, Drayton Manor - I'm surprised nobody has been crushed in half by the restraints yet.

6. Iron Wolf, Six Flags Great America - I'm pretty sure this ride gave me cauliflower ears.

5. Revolution, Six Flags Magic Mountain - A real shame, as with normal lapbars this could be an alright coaster. If you are going to put OTSRs on a coaster, please pad them somewhat!

4. Scenic Railway, Luna Park Melbourne - The train literally bounces along the track. Utterly, utterly rubbish.

3. Rebel Yell, Kings Dominion - Like number 4, but a bit worse. I'm pretty sure my spine problems all started after riding this ride.

2. Vortex, California's Great America - Felt like being the punch-bag for Muhammed Ali.

1. Hurler, Kings Dominion - At the bottom of the first drop, I found my face implanted into the shoulder of the person I was sitting net to. And then it happened again. And again. And a few more times. I was take great pleasure if I could get the chainsaw out on this one.

Special mentions go to Vekoma's SLC and Boomerang models. Why do parks invest in these monstrosities?

Re: Bottom 10

Hm, interesting topic. In the interest of fairness, I'll exclude kiddie & family rides which I find boring but weren't designed to entertain people my age anyway. So my bottom 10 would probably be these coasters, in some order:

Hurler (KD & Carowinds) - The first coasters I thought of when I saw this topic. Simply the 2 worst coasters I've ever ridden.

Iron Dragon (Cedar Point) - Just doesn't really do anything.

Swamp Fox (Family Kingdom) - Just rough & not fun.

Ninja (SFOG) - Definitely the roughest steel coaster I've ridden. Major headbanging action.

Disaster Transport (Cedar Point) - Boring. Won't miss this one a bit, especially given the replacement.

Star Jet (Casino Pier) - No coaster has ever actually made me fear the possibility of my own death the way this one did.

Looping Coaster (Funtown Pier) - This baby came close though.

Rolling Thunder (SFGAdv) - Not necessarily unenjoyable, just not much fun either.

Shockwave (KD) - Not a fan of TOGO stand-ups if this is anything to judge them by.

Re: Bottom 10

Here's my selection of bad coasters in no particular order:

1. Chance Toboggan - probably the worst coaster I've been on. Just awful in every way.

2. Primeval Whirl @ Animal Kingdom - Terrible

3. Stampida @ Port Aventura - it has a good layout but is spoilt by roughness.

4. Limit @ Heide Park

5. Turbo @ Brighton Pier

6. G-Force @ Drayton Manor

Re: Bottom 10

^^I still have nightmares about that!

In no particluar order....

Manhattan Express
White Canyon
Villain
Coaster Express
Goudurix
El Condor
Stampida (both sides)
Tornado (M&Ds)
Psyclone
Space 2000

And every Zamperla Volare I've ever been on.

Re: Bottom 10

Don't think there's 10 rides I actually dislike enough to rank them. I'll just put Infusion, Wild Mouse, X No Way Out and El Diablo as the worst rides I've been on.

Re: Bottom 10

Jake, some of those transitions look bad enough that I wouldn't even ride it! Disgusting!

Re: Bottom 10

In no particular order

Superman: Ride of Steel - Six Flags America - what a piece of ****, pointless straights, stupid Helixes, no airtime, and painful restrains really added up to massive hunk of scrap metal.

Hydra - Dorney park - As a ride it's not bad, but as a B&M it's just awful. It's rough, it's boring, it's forceless, everything a good B&M should not be.

Batman: The Ride - Six Flags Great Adventure - I just dont enjoy it, they are too painful for me, if I ride anywhere but the front I black out for the entire ride. I enjoy some strong forces, but Batman offers just a little too much for me

Cyclone - Six Flags New England - Ouch, it was very painful, and it looked like it was about to fall apart as it went around the track. It was just very unpleasant.

Pirates Hideaway - Casino Pier - The original cred in a shed, uneventful, boring, and just, a waste of time.

Roar - Six Flags America - Torture device with a fancy name

Those are the only truly bad rides I can think of right now.

I quite liked Engima, for what it was :)

Obviously, there's a large amount of dross out there. Kiddie creds and family coasters which in a major park, you can just ignore generally as you never expect anything of them.

So my bottom are rides where you should expect a decent thrill, or to get something out of them. Instead, if I went back to the park, I'd rather sit and trace the lines of my hands in preference to going on the rides - it's infinitely more fun, and infinitely less painful in some cases... Though in some cases, being flayed alive is infinitely less painful.

1. Phoenix. Top of my bottom ten (as in the least worst :? ) as it's the only one of these I'd happily ride again to see if there was something I missed. As it was, it was nothing more than a kiddie coaster like the crappier Blackpool woodies, only not as good. As it's supposed to be one of the top ten thrill machines, it obviously fell somewhat short of expectations - so requires to be ridden at least once more to see if there really is anything there.

2. Rock'n'Rollercoaster. Wimpy launch into a slow and boring layout while Steve Tyler warbles about love in an elevator (they couldn't even pick decent tracks). Yawnfest.

3. Kanonen. Limp launch, into brakes, over tiny top hat, painful and cramped layout Gerstlauer would have melted down and started again. End. Where it isn't boring and disappointing you, it's raping your neck and ears.

4. King Solomon's Mines. One day this will open again. On that day, I shall go to Dreamland and not ride this. It's the Wild Mouse at Blackpool, only sharper, rougher and more likely to kill you. Seriously nasty ride. Where the Wild Mouse is actually a little fun, KSM replaced each fun bit with a hard seat and a jolt.

5. Speed. Oh, hello vicious headache, I didn't have you going up the lift hill.

6. GASM (SFGAdv). Rammed the entire train behind me through my kidneys going into a loop. They knocked it down several years too late.

7. Antelope (Gullivers). The only "kiddie coaster" on the list. That's because taking your kids on this ride is child abuse. Nasty little coaster.

8. Cyclone (SFNE). Supposed to be okay since the retrack, but prior to that it delivered pain after pain after pain. Not one single part of the ride was fun. Coney Island Cyclone (back row) has similar, but it was also exciting. This was boring and painful.

9. X:\NWO. I've not been on this ride in years. I do deliberately sit outside and not ride it, because it actually IS more fun. Dull ride, just utterly, utterly boring. If it goes forwards, I'll ride it once again and I bet it's still dull. For a long time, I honestly thought that there couldn't be another ride in the world worse.

10. Furius Baco. I was so wrong about X:\NWO. Never has a ride promised so much and delivered so much. In that it promises to be fantastic and delivers 20 rounds with a heavy weight boxer. Nasty, nasty, nasty ride.

Re: Bottom 10

Not counting any small or just general family coasters that are smooth. Here are my top 10 worst coasters with 1 being the worst and 10 being not quite as bad.

10. Vampire, CWOA
9. Gold Rusher, SFMM
8. Holly's Wilde Autofahrt, Holiday Park
7. Goudurix, Parc Asterix
6. Trace Du Hora, Parc Asterix
5. Limit, Heide Park
4. Avalanche, PBB
3. Swiss Bobsleigh, Europa Park
2. Wildcat, Lake Compounce
1. Swiss Bobsleigh, Heide Park

Re: Bottom 10

Same approach as Furie, ignoring obvious kiddie/family coasters, here are mine. I'm also going to exclude SLCs because they're pretty much all ****.

1) Intimidator 305 - Just the stupidest piece of **** ever to be shat into existence. Let's break this down. It's 305ft, it's in the name, this is a big coaster. For what reason? The rest of the layout sucks balls, made me see stars and was so quick that I couldn't even contemplate what was going on. Just, what was the point? Uncomfortable and crap.

2) Hurler - All I remember from this ride is coming down the first drop, seeing the horrible corner approaching and thinking 'Oh God, this is going to be bad' followed by immense paid. Disgusting contraption.

3) Corkscrew (Flamingoland) - Not only was the thing bloody hideous and unimaginative, it also tried to decapitate me. Glad it's gone.

4) Goudrix - The worst thing about Goudrix is it looks awesome. It sits over the lake looking all intimidating, has an imaginative layout and a really cool station. Even the first drop is really fun. And then something possesses it and it tries to murder you in the most sadistic way possible. Eurgh <//3

5) Wildcat (Lake Compounce) - OK, so we all know that Boulder Dash lives at LC and it's awesome and amazing and whatever. What people often leave out is this turd of a rollercoaster. Maybe it lived a previous life as a chiropractor, I don't know, but it definitely tried to readjust my spine.

6) Batwing - I'm not a massive fan of the B&M flying coasters, but this is just so SO much worse. The restraints are VILE, the way it lays you on your back feels disgusting and vulnerable, like you're about the be touched inappropriately. You then ascend the lift-hill, again exposed to all of God's graces, be that pissing rain or blistering heat, you are exposed to the elements. And then you have to traverse the layout, which feels so RCT it's unreal. Absolutely gross.

7) Manhattan Express - So, the first thing you note about this coaster is how cool is looks, mingling amongst the hotel apartment buildings and racing alongside the Vegas strip. Very cool indeed. So you get all excited and take your seat, and then notice that, unless you're in the front row, you can see **** all because of the stupidly high seats in front of you blocking the view. The it just kind of bumbles and awkwardly takes the layout, there's a random inversion that has no place being there before farting you back out into the station. I guess most people ride this drunk so don't realise how crap it really is.

8) G-Force - The restraints try to splice you in half. For some reason, I don't know why. Then it does this weird lift-hill thing that all seems entirely wrong before releasing you (which feels accidental) before clumsily trundling along the rest of the crap, cramped layout, all the while your restraint growing ever tighter.

9) The Dark Knight (SFNE) - The world's most boring B&M. Has a quite cool colour scheme, and a sweet looking layout. But it just.....doesn't DO anything. Would be entirely forgettable except for the fact that it's SO boring that it has stuck with me.

10) Daemonen - Actually I lied. THIS is the world's worst B&M. I was so excited to ride such a unique little coaster. I loved the way it sat in the park, only fleetingly catching a glimpse of it every now and then. It begins with a helix of WHY and then just does sweet FA until you fly up into the brakes, where you get a smidge of airtime but by then it's too late, the ride is over. What the feck?
