I can totally understand where you're coming from, and I think it's true that people can overhype some of the more obscure coasters. I'm actually very careful not to do that myself. I will, however, get defensive with TOGO because I know, personally, that they have made some fantastic coasters.
I'm never going to say that TOGO is better than Intamin or B&M as an overall company, but some of their coasters really are brilliant, and can rival coasters from other manufacturers.
Ok, so I'm still just under the 200 coaster mark, but I'd say I've got a lot of variety in that count, and have a good idea of what constitutes a good coaster.
TOGO have made some ****, absolutely, and I've ridden a fair few of those as well. However, that isn't going to detract from the great coasters I've ridden from them.
Anyway, to answer the original question (again), my favourite manufacturer is Intamin.
