Ultimate doesn't hurt me, the Eurofighters do.

Failing to see the irony here..

I don't even think this is a difference of opinion, it must be a difference of experience. I've never felt any discomfort on a eurofighter, let alone pain. The Ultimate on the other hand is the single most painfull experience i've ever had on a ride, mainly on the banking after the second lift hill and drop. I don't know if you just have shorter legs than me but my knees were black and blue afterwards, even then, my ribs weren't any less sore.

Out of all the ones I have ridden I'd say Fluch von Novgorod was the best, mainly because it has a launch and I <3 launches.

The only part of these types of coaster that I really enjoy are the airtime hills (Saw and Speed spring to mind). The rest is just pain, having to really, really brace myself the whole time so I don't end up in pain and generally clenching my teeth. And the restraints do this horrible thing where they get tighter as the ride goes around and I end up sat on the break run at the end with my thighs squished flat, they're quite vile things really.

I'd much rather see more of the other Gerstlauer rides like Anubis and Lynet (forget what they're called). They're SO much more fun, a lot less pain and a lot more comfortable in general. Surely these can't be more expensive than Eurofighters on average?

I was thinking along them lines too. Anubis is just brilliant in every way, and most importantly, it doesn't try to kill me, its butter smooth, with no lumps/bumps/jots, so why on earth are the EF's so bad?

Anyone here ridden a EF with the launch trains (Dare Devil Dive, and that pink thing at Belantis)?

The eurofighter otsr are vile! That's why I have to pic Dare Devil Dive as the best hence it only got lap bars and therefore must be better! At least I hope so...

Id say Saw as its the only one I have ridden on the list.
Takabisha looks the best though by appearance.

Definitely difference of opinion. I also find The Ultimate exceptionally painful and for that reason I don't like the ride. However, it's a ride that is utterly unlike any other ride experience you're ever going to find. It's pure madness.

Oddly, I found Saw really comfortable, and as such, completely bland. Rage and Speed both caused me really unpleasant pain. With Speed, it's the fact I'm so tightly clamped, that the airtime hill tries to separate my head from my neck - and that square corner - eugh.

The point is, that the Eurofighters (that I've been on) are utterly unremarkable to me in terms of what they offer to me as a rider. However, they're also cursed with causing a lot of pain. In this instance, the pain:pleasure ratio doesn't work so I find the rides bad.

The Ultimate I get this with too, but let's say that pain and pleasure are rated out of 10, The Ultimate would be 10 Pain to 8 Pleasure and the Eurofighters 9 Pain to 5 Pleasure. Therefore the Ultimate is better. It's all about how much pleasure you derive from the ride and I find the Eurofighters very bland and a very similar ride experience to a Pinfari Looper.

The pain caused on the Ultimate is a bit different from the experience of a Euro-fighter.

I enjoyed Rage.
I liked Speed: No Limits to a degree, but I kept coming off with a head ache (though no head banging...)
Saw would be good, but the unusual shuddering pain at the bottom of the elements is pretty unbearable for me.

So far, Rage would be my favorite.
Trying not to sound like a dick here, but this is why my post above yours is right.

I genuinely do not think there is a reasonable way you could think Rage is the best. The only explanation is that you rode that when it was behaving, and the others when they weren't.

It shocks me how people seem oblivious to how much they vary. In this topic it's just people arguing about whether they are rough or not, and the dramatic difference of opinion can only mean one thing.

I can't speak for Speed cause I cba to trek to South Wales for a EUROFIGHTER, but, Rage is loads better than Saw...

It just doesn't hurt as much. The drop's pretty much the same, Rage has a pretty fab loop, and the helix/inline twist combo is quite fab as well. And it doesn't murder you as much.

I'd love to think they vary, but, all my rides on Rage and Saw have been very similar as each other, over years, seasons and hours in the day.

Saw is gross, Speed is DISGUSTING.

I'll go for the Rage clones, just because they have the decency to be short.

Hence Joey's confusion

I found Rage and Speed to be pretty bad (Speed actually violently unpleasant, Rage just generally "uncomfortable"), but Saw I found to be absolutely smooth and utterly unremarkable.

How can there be such a huge range of difference? They're crap, that's how ;)

It's amazing how much Eurofighters can vary between seats and rides as well. SAW is a great example. Some rides were just mildly uncomfortable with the odd jolt here and there. Others were utterly vile and headache inducing.

^ I noticed that too. Leftside was complete death for me.

Another thing, I haven't been on Rage for a few years now. Dont know if that changes much?

And typically, people click Saw because it's the only one they've ridden.

Brilliant.

Just **** ing LOOK at them? How can Takabisha not be the best one there? And yeah, I'm waiting for the "crest of the hill is slow" bollocks. That's not going to swing it.

Every opinion poll should just consist of "Which one have you ridden?" since that's the only way most idiots vote anyway.

Fair enough, but what about the CCI? Loving the ZP sig BTW.

I'd say
Average Eurofighter experience - pain = 0 pleasure = 5
The ultimate - pain = 10 pleasure = 2
I guess that just goes to show the difference in peoples experiences/opinions.

To be fair, most people on this site will know how a ride can be drastically different onride than what it may seem from pictures or pov's, that's why people may choose to restrict their vote to coasters they've ridden. Although if you have that mindset and vote in a poll that only leaves you one option then it does seem pointless.

I have no idea what this pain on Saw is... I have been on it many times, and I find it one of the least painfull coasters in the park...

^The pain really depends on where you sit and your "dimensions", also it doesn't help if you're restraints are too tight...

In my opinion, the pain is bearable, however it's the head-banging and jolting that I don't like!

I got to ride Rage today for the first time since 2007, and to me it doesn't feel any different now to what it did back then. Its rough (headbang) in places, but nothing out of the ordinary. Its still a fab little coaster. So for me it really does beg the question, "why?". Why is Saw so bad and painful? Why do the cars 'bounce' when they pick up speed?
