Well my 18th is in a few months and my mum's said I can a more expensive present this year. She's asked me what I want as there's a few.
I've dropped out the idea of getting an iPhone, as even though my current mobile is about 5 years old it texts and does phone calls which is all I want from it.

So now I can't decide whether I want a new TV or Laptop. Both have several benefits and downsides.
I've needed a new TV for ages. At the moment I've got a tiny black box of one and it's pretty pants. I need a new flatscreen TV that I can link up to my PS3 so it makes the picture better and I can put my HDMI cable (got it free with a magazine subscription) to good use. Although if I got one I don't know how much I'd use it as I only use the TV in my room for the PS3 and only use the PS3 about 4 hours a week. But I'm not sure if a new TV will encourage me to use it more.

Or the other option. A Laptop. I've already got a PC at home, and there are plenty at college. So I can do work on both at the moment I use a memory stick to transfer work from one place to the other which works fine as it's all I need. With a laptop it should hopefully be better than the PC I've got at the moment. Although this one (although a little slow) also does everything I kinda need it to do.

So yeah I can't decide so I've made this poll. What do you think I should go for? Or is there anything else that may be worth me getting?

^If I got a TV it would probably be around 32". They are expensive, but I'd rather get it from a good make like Sony rather than some crappy company that sells them cheap.

Get the TV. Laptops are rubbish!

You can then use your TV as a web browser on your PS3 (USB K/B and Mouse FTW) and have 32" porn* in high def! Lovely!

*TV screen size... ;)

Go for the TV :) Theres so much to watch these days so you may as well enjoy it on a big, clear, quality TV

Whatever you do don't get the Nokia E71 or Ben and I will cry!

Whatever you do, don't get the E71 or you will end up with a **** phone that breaks easily. Like mine did, and my N96 did, just like every other N96 ever made.

From the list you gave us, I'd say the TV warrents the change, you seem happy, or willing to compromise with the laptop, but complained a great deal more about the TV, so I'd say that.

Get the TV. Playing PS3 in HD on a decent TV will blow you away if you haven't done it before.

Also, laptops are pointless unless you really need the portability.

I've decided to go for the TV. Does anyone have any suggestions of which one to get?
I'm looking at around 32" and a good make (so not any from cheap companies that nobodies heard off). I'm not sure about price range but I don't think my mum will pay more than about £350 for it. It also needs to have a HDMI socket (most of them do anyway) and if it has 1080p then that would be much better as well. :)
I've checked a few out already but if you can find any good ones or know any good ones then let me know here.

Thanks.
