USF Project 971 (Rumored Springfield Expansion)

I love T2 but it has had it's day now.

ET I do not bother with its just so dated and slow.

Agree Twister needs to go.

All of their 4D shows do not interest me at all, I don't like Shrek and I don't like the new one they just done.

I'd cry if T2 went so I was glad that apparently it's getting a refurb or something. ET was great too and I don't think it needs to go, maybe just make people more aware as to where it is though. I felt like it was just shoved at the back.

Totally agree about Twister though, it's alright but pre-shows of awfulness and generally being a bit dated it would make sense for that to go soon. Apparently we could see Shrek replaced with something new soon.

I really liked T2, but then I love the flims. That's the biggest problem any movie park has, if you don't like the film, chances are you wont care too much for an attraction based on it.

Twister and Disaster are very poor attractions IMO.

I wouldn't class The Simpsons ride as 'poor' as such, as it does have a nice modern feel to it, but at the end of the day, it's just a simulator. Meh.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, I dunno.... but after 15 nights in Orlando, we only spent around 4 hours in Universal Studios.

I don't see much point of Shrek 4D. You can view the film from your tv now and the effects aren't exactly world class enough to make a visit around the world. It's a pretty simple 4D Cinema. To be honest I actully prefered the preshow seeing as I had not viewed it before. But a pretty fun attraction for the kids I guess

I love Terminator 2, one of my faviourte themepark shows. Give it a upgrade and keep the thing.

Twister can go. Boring and didn't even bother going on it on my last visit.

I really think could transform Twister in to a fake movie set and make it a expeirence taking you into the heart of Universal's traditional classics. That could be an excuse to close E.T and put a...SpongeBob Ride  I still love that show.

I don't see a T2 upgrade happening if the Hollywood version is closing at the end of the year. As much as I liked the show I won't be surprised if the Orlando version meets the same fate a few years down the road.

Of what I've heard The Simpsons Ride isn't very popular. It was almost a walk-on when I went in October 2009 and I haven't heard any reports of long lines outside of really heavy days.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit needs to die (or at least get majorly reconfigured) but that's just my general distaste for it.

Twister can be closed down for all I care, same with Shrek 4D. Disaster I actually enjoyed but I only experienced it once, so I assume that the novelty wears off very quickly.

Adding Transformers is IMO very unnecessary and blatant but since it comes to a place more accessible to me than Hollywood I can let it slip.

Gringott's Bank coaster looks to be a very interesting addition, as long as it's not Revenge of the Mummy 2.0.

I agree with most statements however when I visited christmas time 2010 The Simpsons ride did usually have a 60-90 mins queue. But I did go during the busiest time ( even though most queues wern't to bad).

The thing is, at the moment, the Simpsons ride just seemed completely out of place, it really needs a cash injection not the area to make it feel more of a solid attraction.

We spent a LOT of time in Universal, I actually really like the park, yes, it's got a lot of sims, but, it IS a park themed to movies, it's that simple really.

I think it's due the fact I have been there so much and I'm just bored of the park. There is nothing there to make me want to keep going back.

Felt the same with ioa, Harry potter was good the rest was just run down.

To be honest, I thought the same with Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom. I kept saying to Maddie how much it felt run down and the magic just wasn't there for me, I understand they're expanding at the moment (MK). But, yeah, i think all parks are going through that 'tired' moment lately.

I feel like the problem with Orlando is that, for so long now, it was the number one destination for theme parks. Nowhere else in the world rivalled it, so it was a bit like, why should we care.

Recently, we've seen a number of high quality, unique attractions popping up all over, that which rivals the likes of Disney and Universal, and all of a sudden the Orlando parks were like '****'. They had to massively rethink what they were doing and sort out some upgrades and fast. They let the parks fester because they didn't NEED to make them any better, they were already the best, and now things are happening to change that.

It's more construction than anything, has been up since this topic started. Some trees and that have been removed so far and probably a fair bit of the interior of the fast food place.

This looks to be going ahead...

Could be interesting, but I dunno?

Amazing what this park has been doing since Blackstone sold their stake in them :)

They are improving the whole park.

Well nobody had posted in here for six months and it suddenly cropped up on my news feed

Better late than never...
