Unknown Sky Wheel for Linnanmäki for 2011

Ooooo, good move by the park. Certainly keeping up with the uniqueness of the park, and trying to compete with Sarka a lot more.

Yumm.. I love Sky Wheels. I really can't wait to get on one. Good move for Linnanmaki.

Since my Finnish is a bit rusty, do we know anything more about the layout or will it be a simple loop?

According to the stats, then I would go for the loop only. I don't think that they really have the space to build something much bigger though.

I have been wondering where this coaster might go, ever since the ECC magazine first printed that a sky wheel had been sold to northern Europe at IAAPA.
It just give me another reason why to go to Finland...

I was thinking that, though the ride duration is the same as Abismo....

Edit: the other Sky Wheel's have near enough the same duration as Abismo. Do they go round twice?

Yeah the one at Skyline Park went around twice which would nearly match the duration on Abismo.

I'd rather see an Abismo type rather than a Sky Wheel as they can get a bit repetitive after a while but I guess if they are lacking space then they may have no choice.

As I remember there is forest area lower down on one side of the park so I wonder have they been able to develop some of this land. Anyway nice addition this this already impressive park.

I've always felt that Linnanmaki's coaster selection was bit weak compared to the other Scandinavian city parks. The scenic railway isn't quite as good and Tivoli's or Bakken's, the spinning coaster isn't as good as Bakken's, Tulireki is a contender for most pointless ride ever made, and the ZacSpin isn't as good as Grona Lund's. It's all a bit middle of the road.

But they do well with what they have, and I can think of much worse places with a much worse selection of rides. It's a good city park, just not as good as Liseberg, Grona Lund, Tivoli Gardens or Bakken.

Hmm... looks like a possible trip for this year will be postponed. These things are fab <3.

Good to hear you like it, I like it too! The location will be between the main entrance and the wooden rollercoaster Vuoristorata. Right where the octopus ride used to be. Now it has been moved to a new area, where a new ride will debut when they'll first finish building it. There's a rumor, that even all the trackwork hasn't yet arrived :p Anyway, it'll be a Technical Park Baby Aviator, probably custom model. I've managed to spy a little on this, and it looks at the moment like a simple out-and-back design with dark blue track and grey, metallic supports. I'll give more info and pics when there's actually something to show.
