Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

Still no fan of that super brightly lit Super Mario area. Didn’t like it in Hollywood and appears they’re not changing it here. It’s a shame, they could’ve done some creative lighting but instead it’s just bright white lights all over.

Have Universal finally done a better job of hiding the show buildings this time?

One of their biggest shortcomings has always been how visible they are, which can really break the immersion. I can’t stand the obvious warehouse stuck onto Forbidden Journey.

Videos and pictures are starting to fly out on Epic Universe. I must say its looking phenomenal.

Here are some big spoilers if you want to have a peep.
I love the effect of going through the fireplace.

Not great quality but i think the ride looks pretty great.

Here are some photos of the How to train your dragon land.

Long rambling post with possible spoilers?

Finally got the chance to visit the park yesterday. Yellow Stardust and Harry Potter were down the whole time but I got to do everything else I wanted including a reride on the Green side of Stardust Racers.
Park is really pretty and for now, has a ton of landscaping and actual flowers all around, we'll see how long they last come summer (and day guests).
Celestial Park is nice but I kinda expected more? This area is still under construction with unfinished shops and restaurants so maybe it'll fill in a bit more. Stardust is super fun even with just the one side running and I was able to get both the day and night ride on it. I also did the carousel which is quite similar to the Sea Glass Carousel in New York City so while not as big of a wow to me as others who hadn't seen a carousel in that style, it is pretty neat looking. Also got pizza here for lunch, was good.

Super Nintendo World was probably the best area. It's extremely bright and colorful, it actually hurt my eyes when entering because it was *so* bright. Everything in here was so dann cute and adorable and there's definitely a lot of kinetic energy in this land? Whereas the other areas are more static, everything here is moving around. Donkey Kong coaster is way better to watch than it is to ride. It's so cute but ir runs like junk, sadly. We did the Yoshi ride knowing it was meant for little kids but not realizing hoowww little kids it was designed for haha... and then there was Mario Kart, super fun but the queue length is probably 2 miles of walking! Not sure how busy they expect this park to be but several attractions have lines that seriously feel that they could hold 20,000 people! Seriously, you just keep walking and walking and then you go upstairs and then you go downstairs and you go up more stairs.

Dark Universe felt kinda small but the castle here is for sure impressive. The theme isn't really my style, actually, really none of the lands were things I cared about 😬 ...but I could definitely see this area being quite popular with the hhn crowd. But it really is a tragic shame how ugly The netting around the werewolf coaster is it's very very distracting and looks so unfinished, despite the fact that it is the finished product

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic...uh... I really really don't like Harry Potter and was annoyed that Orlando was getting yet a third Harry Potter land.... although this one is by far the most impressive looking, I still don't know what any of the stuff is, nor do I care. The main ride was closed but they were allowing people to walk the queue which is designed to hold about 12 hours of people based off how absolutely massive the line is. There's also a circus show here that after waiting in line for 45 minutes, they made an announcement that it was out of service, so we left 🤷‍♂️

How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, again another land where I'm not familiar with the product since I've never seen any of the movies but I thought it was well done. It's probably the prettiest land but most of the theming elements here are static. Coaster was a lot of fun. I hadn't really kept up on it so not knowing the layout made it more interesting. I skipped the water ride but I did do the Gerstlauer Sky Fly. While walking around the land and in line for the coaster I noticed I never really saw people flipping on it and I wasn't sure if they just didn't know how or didn't want to but while riding I discovered it's very difficult. I'm pretty sure they keep the break semi-active for reasons unknown. I was able to get three consecutive flips eventually and then one other flip before the short cycle ended 🤷‍♂️ ( meanwhile at Bakken I was able to get like a hundred flips consecutively.. Joey can vouch for me)

Spoilers obviously (duh), but POVs of Battle and Monsters;

(whoever got the tiling contract for that made a killing ;) )

EDIT: this one is better visually for the ride part of monsters (and doesn't have the queue etc) - although it misses off the end of the ride part a bit;
