UK Dark Rides

After visiting Warner Bros world and Ferrari World this week, the amazing collection of dark rides at these 2 parks got me thinking.

Why are there such a lack of good UK dark rides?

Just one of the dark rides at Warner Bros would be incredible to have in the UK.

The UK got off to a pretty good start with Terror Tomb, Haunted house, Hex, even Toyland Tours, they were not world class by any means but they were good solid attempts.

Since then the best big budget attempt at a world class dark ride was Derren Brown Ghost train? We know how that turned out.

Even the latest attempts such as Gangsta Granny are just made on the cheap?

Will we ever see a motion based 3d dark ride in the UK?
Doesn’t haven’t to be on Spider-man/Transformers scale, the technology is now over 20 years old surely it has now become more affordable?
Speed of magic uses this system at Ferrari World, it can’t have been a huge budget but is still better than anything the UK offers.

Or a trackless system ever used in the UK? Robotic Arm?

Maybe Derren Brown was the one chance of something like these and it got blown..

OK, the UK doesn't have a park that's anywhere close to Efteling in this respect, but we've got things they don't have.

We've got a Hex and we've got a Valhalla.
