Well both are interwined with each other in a new area of the park hardly surprising. Would be awkward to build and open one after another...

The Family Boomerang will be 500m long with a drop of 22m and a top speed of 60km/h

I'm assuming that's the distance the train travels both backwards and forwards since I don't see why the track would be more than twice as long as Raik or Saven.

Track showed up today, RCS is there, I assume the first coaster will go vertical soon.

Ah yes, will be a real treat to randomly see two more Vekoma coasters open before F.L.Y. does. Just rubbing it in.

So happy to finally see a Next Gen SLC (aka STC) project going ahead. Inverts are a rare breed nowadays - Chinese SLCs aside - and I'm curious to see how different will the layout be compared to the generic B&M formula.

Tripsdrill have released a teaser trailer with some more shots of track being delivered, including the station and lifthill track for the family boomerang.

In this article it was also mentioned that this is a 7-figure investment (so something under €10 million).

Sounds about right. Vekomas seem to be dirt cheap nowadays.

I wouldn't say dirt cheap. SBF Visa, Fabbri and Zamperla are dirt cheap. Vekoma, not so much.

I guess with this being the first STC (unless one has popped up in Asia that I've missed?), they might have gotten a bit of a 'discount' there?

A lot of Vekoma's new first incarnations of their coasters seem to go quiet cheap. I can't imagine a clone of Lech Coaster, for example, costing another park ~€4m now..

To be fair, I reckon they got this really cheap seen as Tayto's planning fell through.

That being said, this is peculiar circumstances that have caused this and not because 'It'S vEkOmA, tHeY'rE cHeAp'

Except these coasters were still planned ahead of Tayto, so I doubt they got it cheaper because Tayto cancelled.

Vekoma is not what it used to be. They seem to have steered from rough and bland to more creative and exciting, along with a better manufacturing process.

If we are talking about hardware and groundwork, a solid Vekoma can be around 5 million euro. Not cheap but not too expensive, I think.

A few more supports are up now, gotta say I love the way Tripsdrill is sharing the progress of these rides. The support on the floor should also be the first STC connection.

Tripsdrill had a press conference today to reveal this concept image and the names of their new coasters.

Family Boomerang: Volldampf

Of course its just a concept image so mightn't be how the actual train will look but no vests restraints depicted on the Suspended Thrill Coaster...

"Neck-over-head" sounds like the name of a Chinese coaster that's been through a dodgy translation.

And that's not a good thing.

"Hals-über-Kopf" translates to "in a hurry" or "headlong". I think it's quite fitting for an intense suspended coaster in a park that is themed around local (schwäbisch) volklore.
