What's new

Tivoli World, Malaga. 20/5/2010

Brilliant trip report! Thanks for sharing!

(And now I'm looking forward to extreme negativity.)

Why post that saying you're going to post later? Clearly it would be better just to post when you've written it. :p

Time for a proper report. =]

Thursday was the plan to get out and do Tivoli World, heavily advertised around the Torremolinos area, so first stop, the train station in Torremolinos. Thank **** it was under cover and I got a bottle of water from my hotel

Few stops later, and wondering about, I found the park entrance. If you ever go there, look for the cable car, its the best way to find it!

They do a system, a bit like Blackpool do, where you have to pay to get in the park. Thats a gefty €7! Luckily it was free entry when I went, so €7 saved! Upon entering, 1 of the characters was there greeting us.

Went to the ticket office, got a wristband for all rides which cost €12, not too shabby I thought. Started to look for the first coaster, but imagine RCT, how you have a centralised path and just little lands attached to it, the park is a bit like that. Trying to find their coasters were a nightmare! Go down 1 bit, and its the wrong area.

Rawr I'm part of a Jungle Train ride!

Managed to find the coaster, but next to it, was Twister, didn't ride it, but randomly its not a Twister type ride.

So onto the first coaster...
32016_425832072779_728732779_5525522_4980599_n.jpg

Apparently its forbidden to put your arms outside...
32016_425832082779_728732779_5525523_589932_n.jpg

Basically the coaster is a rip off of the Mack figure 8 powered coaster
32016_425832087779_728732779_5525524_1673015_n.jpg

But the trains are different too

Yes, if you want you can queer up!

Walked along a bit, and saw their 60m drop tower, unfortunately it didn't open for an hour.

Its a Moser drop tower of all things! Looking forward to this, so I will come back to that later. Also their Top Spin is next to it, but wasn't working =[
32016_425832202779_728732779_5525537_1271343_n.jpg

En-route to those rides, I found their 2nd coaster
32016_425832122779_728732779_5525529_2127631_n.jpg

Oh balls...
32016_425832127779_728732779_5525530_2943389_n.jpg

Sad Mushy =[ Denied credit!
32016_425832137779_728732779_5525531_2965627_n.jpg

Though the trains are quite small...

32016_425832157779_728732779_5525533_5126205_n.jpg

I saw this go round, and it looked quite badly maintained, and the ride op was smoking too =/
Well this is for Ollie, Pasage Del Terror.
32016_425832207779_728732779_5525538_5442847_n.jpg

It cost an extra €5 to go in there, after seeing some of the park already, decided not to! So here is a water fountain, does look very much an RCT design in a way!
32016_425832212779_728732779_5525539_5092267_n.jpg

Next up was their main coaster, built in the 1970's!
32016_425832222779_728732779_5525540_5774718_n.jpg

Ugh, Pinfari!

Rough as ****! Also when I was going round the first corner, there was a peacock in the restricted area of the ride. I will upload the POV sometime this week so you can see and hear it!

Another Pay to Play attraction is the Go Karts
32016_425832247779_728732779_5525544_3171897_n.jpg

Its a pretty nifty figure 8 circuit!
32016_425832257779_728732779_5525545_4957094_n.jpg

But they must be fairly quick as you get helmets
32016_425832267779_728732779_5525546_7907173_n.jpg

This costs another €4 to ride, no thanks, I was on my own and on a budget.
In another area of the park, there was a few more rides, like a Jump 'n' Smile thing
32016_425832277779_728732779_5525547_5675468_n.jpg

And a ride which covers itself up too
32016_425832282779_728732779_5525548_6062608_n.jpg

And not forgetting their Ferris Wheel!
32016_425832287779_728732779_5525549_4678429_n.jpg

This is the Ghost Train
32016_425832297779_728732779_5525550_4671164_n.jpg

Which included monsters eating a naked chick
32016_425832307779_728732779_5525551_1548313_n.jpg

They had a log flume...
32016_425832312779_728732779_5525552_7421883_n.jpg

Contains 3 drops, all varying sizes. But the water was putrid! Glad I kept my mouth shut!

As I was walking back towards the drop tower, I saw the peacock again!
32016_425832322779_728732779_5525553_3225758_n.jpg

The had a dino ride, which was pants, and extremely cheap. Next up was the 60m drop tower. Had to wait a few mins before it opened, and a few more for extra people. Started going up, had a nice view of the sea. Got to the top, expecting it to hold for a few seconds, but no! Up to the top, and drops you straight away! Ugh pants! Also you get no airtime on it due to the restraints being automatic and pinning you in =[

So after spending 1 hour in the park, I left. This park is absolutely dire, no sense of co-ordination, just felt like a fun fair which is there permanently. Also as I mentioned, is very much RCT like the park. Thank god I don't have to go to that **** hole of a park ever again. Unless they randomly get a new coaster, which they haven't for 30 years. Just another park and 2 credits for me. Bye Tivoli World, hope not to see you ever again!

Nice report Mushroom

Shame about how bad the park was though. I went to Malaga last year and planned to go to this park but the locals advised me highly not to because it was so bad so I left it.

That was my first ever park back in 1999! I was only 8 :p . Not much seems to have changed, only they have added a drop tower. The log flume was under construction when we were there. I remember doing Pasaje Del Terror and it was one of the scariest things in my life (I was only 8). The place sure looks like a dump though!

Five euros for a Pasaje attraction is very good. :) Should of done it mushy.
What was the ghost train like?
Doesn't look like that good a park though and looks almost deserted as well.

Yeah it has a nice setting, but its just a tatty looking fair ground, with what looks like a fab Drop Tower!

Nice report though!

A nicely constructed report (y)!

So apart from yourself and the two kids, were there any other punters knocking about?

Ian: Yeah, big group of school kids, some english and some irish there.

Ollie: Ghost train was ****, reason why it was deserted as it was a Thursday and I got there for opening

Martyn B: The drop tower was crap if you read some of the report

Sorry for double post, here is a pov for you!
