Tivoli Gardens 2014-2015?

Tivoli has made it official that they are removing their Huss Flic Flac.

They say this on their website.

"Dragen is being removed. But we are looking forward to find out of what will come instead!"

Maybe this is to make room for the new coaster?

Damn! I wanted to ride a Flic flac SO bad. I guess I will have to ride one (if I can find one) at a German fair.

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

Good, it looked more terrifying than bloody Vertigo was...

Dunno how they're gonna fit a cred in that space though...

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

^ Apparently they don't have anything planned for that space yet, the rumored coaster is not going there.

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

Something like this would fit perfect there (if they could fit it, that is). The ride offers an experience like no other at Tivoli, and the looks of it would fit the area.

Also, can't wait to see how this new coaster develops!

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

^ urghh. Tivoli pretty much have only good and unique flat rides. Why spoil that ?

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

^Exactly! Those disc'o rides are awful. Then I would much prefer a discovery style ride. But really, what I think Tivoli is missing is a flume or water ride of some sort. I know it would be hard/impossible to squeeze one in the place of Dragen. But it would be nice to see a flume at some place at the park in the future! :)

Re: Gerstlauer Coaster For Tivoli Gardens In 2015?

^ yeah a flume would be a good addition to the park. As long as its not one of those pier style ones.

As posted earlier, the old Rutschebanen is getting some love.

Tivoli has today posted some artwork on their FB-Page showing how it should look when it opens for it's 100th season.

Wow! That is some tacky consept art :P

But I do believe the final result will be great! :)

Can't wait to come out of the train station next year!

Changed the title of the topic since this is a discussion about both the park's 2014- and 2015 attractions.

Anyways, I took a quick trip to Tivoli to check out the progress of the refurbishment of Rutschebanen.
- A lot of the steel frame has gone up and it actually looks quite big! One of the new cool features will be a more than 20 meters tall waterfall, which actually will be the tallest in Denmark. Not that it's saying much.

Went on a construction tour today with the project manager.
- As with every other peek behind the scenes, it gives you a much better sense of the scale of the project.

We we're greeted by one of Tivoli's engineers just outside of the park, who took us behind the wooden walls into a closed Tivoli Gardens where tall scaffolding is surrounding the old Rutschebanen. (Much more than you see above)
Further into the heart of the structure, huge steel columns that'll support the mountain peaks become apparent, these allegedly go all the way down to the foundation of the coaster and we are told that the process of getting them in place where real tricky. All of the old layers of mountain side is being scratched off where two layers of shotcrete will take it's place, followed by a detailed treatment to make it look nice.

We were allowed to take photos but not publish them, so you'll just have to wait and see for yourself when Tivoli Gardens once again opens this historic roller coaster.

Edit: Got permission, here's a few shots.
