Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Yeah I was expecting “stupid” ejector on Hyperia and it just felt like fun floater for 20 seconds 😂
Nah, it was never 'stupid..' Certainly not in intensity anyway, it wasn't 'that' strong. It was sustained quite well though. You could class it as flojector I guess, but it was stronger than other coasters I class as flojector, so I dunno, lol. It's so subjective.

Untamed is still by far the strongest ejector I've ever felt, since typing this out in 2020, nothing has changed for me...

Ejector: UNTAMED!!! Hands down!

Flojector: Not really sure what classifies, but some of the best ‘slightly weaker‘ ejector I’ve found was on Taron, Helix and Zadra

Floater: Shambhala... Nothing comes close to floating above your seat for a solid 4 seconds over every hill

Anyway, I haven't ridden Hyperia this year yet, so I guess I'll find out soon...

Stopped by Thorpe yesterday and ended up racking up 10 rides on Hyperia. Queues were quite manageable (~30 mins main queue most of the day) and the ride had no downtime other than a 10 minute hiccup towards the end of the day, which was rectified very quickly. I understand overall that Hyperia has seen a massive improvement on reliability compared to the start of the 2025 season - well done to the team at Thorpe for making that happen.

One other thing that I haven't seen much discussion of in this thread is the new wheel compounds, which one assumes have been added as an anti-stalling measure. Combine this with the unseasonably warm Spring weather in England of late and you end up with Hyperia running very fast. Whilst the dive loop/stall suffers a little, becoming less of a hangtime element, the airtime moments overall feel noticeably more ferocious. In my view, this particularly helps those final hills after the trim. Who else agrees that Hyperia is currently running even better than in 2024?

Absolutely! It's an entirely different beast with the new wheel compounds. Copious amounts of ejector all over the ride now. I agree with every part of your analysis!

Having been to the park 6 times already this year (living very close would be rude not to), the difference is stark between the beginning of the season/last year and now.

They should just have gone for a real water-brake system like used on a few M&M dive coasters. The ending sequence of elements already feels a little uninspired, using a real splashdown would at least have made it feel 'real'.

This post!
I rode Hyperia 5 times last week mostly in the back, and I was humbled by the ejector. It was much more aggressive than Voltron and on a higher tier RMC level. I find the outer banked roll and first drop particularly insane with heavy ejector mixed with laterals.

The ride felt ridiculous compared to when it had the old wheels. Some may miss the more floaty and graceful version, but I personally love the way the ride is running now.

Glad to see some positivity here about Hyperia! I did 10 laps last Thursday and yeah, it's a little rough now, but it's also absolutely bonkers. My number 3 behind Iron Gwazi and Velocicoaster and a few spots above Stardust Racers.
