Thorpe park construction - 2015 attraction

This could be good, if it's done right. I really hope it's done right and not half-arsed. Shame there will be no eating challenges though!

Yeah this could be quite good. It's very random (would be more suited to Alton) but could be fun.

Seems an odd move though given how quickly they gave up on Saw Alive.

Is it a maze or a walk through?

It's an ok addition. Something I'd try once. I like the idea of the exotic sauce restaurant.

The best news about this is now that Thorpe are in bed with ITV and Paramount are in bed with BBC, the rumours about a Doctor Who themed ride at Thorpe can be put to bed.

^so can we think about another ITV theme for the 2016 dark ride? Imagine an xfactor walk through haha. I wouldn't say no to a Doc Martin walk through...shame it's finished :p

I'm facepalming due to the fact they are marketing it as a world's first...

Likewise. It's such a shame they have a massive UK monopoly and there are no other decent parks left.

^ Right? Belongs at Blackpool. At the Madame Tussauds there. (Has anyone been? It's basically UK TV stars.)

I feel like theming stuff to TV shows has a very niche appeal. Yes, we all know what a Bush Tucker Trial is whether we've watched the show or not. But yeah, it feels very disjointed sat in the middle of Thorpe. It reeks of Thorpe trying to 'do a Universal' by doing a mini-copycat of thei Fear Factor show? It's very odd, but a means to an end I suppose?

I take it this also means that there'll be no Fright Nights maze in this location for 2015?

I dunno. Given Thorpe's fondness for licences that are on the wane they're probably about to convert X: The Unknown into a Blake's 7 ride!

Having a gander at the press release, it sounds like a walkthrough with actors (so will no doubt close in 2016) and interactive 'trial' elements to it, so imagine the throughput is gonna be utter garbage then... I look forward to them selling the Fastrack for £10 a pop in peak season...

You know what really frustrates me, the theming is of some actual quality and effort, this is something that would suit Chessie moreso (Adventurer Camp like the old Action Man thing) and they've stuck an IP on it because that's the only thing seemingly successful in Thorpe's eyes after Swarm... It ticks the boxes to a question no-one really asked...

Actually, it's Saw Alive but with a more 'family-friendly' IP isn't it?

I sort of like the idea - if its done well then it could be a lot of fun.

But yea not sure how well it will fit in at Thorpe.

Looks like Studio 13 won't be in that location in 2015. I think it'll be popular but I think not that popular that it will end up like Saw Alive in a few months/years.
