Thorpe Park caught cheating on games?

They just found out that these games are cheats? I've known that every parks game's are cheats since I was 6.

I think it's cute that everyone feels it's ok for them to be rigged because it's the common stereotyped perception. <3

It is still illegal

This reminds of that article about the guy who lost all his "life savings" on a carnival game and ended up suing park. It's not necessarily the park's fault, it's the people's fault for being dumb enough to keep playing, or even just play one game!

If it was that obvious the games were fixed they'd be making no money and be removed from the park. But they do say a fool and his money are soon parted...

They're not fixed though?

I mean, they're manipulated, but as far as I'm aware they're not actually outright preventing you from winning, just making it harder at certain times?

Which is, rightly, questionable. But it's not like they've superglued plates to a stand to stop them from smashing.

Feel better knowing them **** always carrying around giant teddies didn't win them through skill.

I watched the programme yesterday.

The game stalls are run by a company HB Leisure under license from Thorpe Park, so lets make it clear that it's not Thorpe Park/Merlin who are supposedly "rigging" the games. Thorpe Park said in a statement during the show that if HB Leisure are suspected of wrong-doing, they will take action.

I can imagine that the games will be run with a stricter ethos over the next few months until the OUTRAGE dies down.

What irritated me more than anything was the way the BBC made out that park trips are mega expensive and that playing the optional games are part of the expense. That's bollocks. I once turned down a Radio 2 interview because they wanted me to talk about how expensive theme parks are. I refused because I said they aren't if people plan ahead. They didn't want that opinion to be broadcasted, they wanted OUTRAGE.

If you play these stall games, you're wasting time and money imo.

Maybe they should take a walk down any sea front or casino as all the games and machines are set to win/payout only after a certain amount of money is put in.

People study fruit machines to learn the when they are about to pay out.

Sideshow games (which is all these are) have been rigged since the beginning of their life at the old travelling Carnival shows. I'm not condoning it, but if anybody believes they're fair, they're naive to say the least.

Aye definitely, they should walk down central pier in Blackpool and get called "**** lying cheap ****" for politely declining to take part in their games.

More fool the people who play them, but it's not impossible to win so Thorpe Park, Merlin or HB leisure aren't cheating anyone to be fair.

If you throw your money at them, don't be annoyed when you get little in return.
What is so great about winning a giant banana anyway... :--D
