The Intimidator. B&M Hyper 2010 - Carowinds

^ I always thought it was to create more prolonged air-time.

B&M are all about long lasting floater. If they wanted intense short airtime I'm sure they'd leave em out, and in all honesty I'm glad they make the effort to produce this kind of airtime. They're not putting them in to "ruin a ride" why would they do that. (I really doubt if maintanence, adding more moving parts doesn't help with maintenance costs! haha

Trims are more of a mental thing on B&M's for myself. While the difference may be negligible, to think "this airtime right now could be better" takes away from the ride.

Sucks really.

Y'know, some coasters run trimless even though they are installed. Behemoth, first season. Diamondback, first season.

Now, they may have been turned on later...

But sometimes they get turned on too much. See also: Raging Bull valley next to Viper's entrance...

^ Oh, just close your eyes on the ride. You won't notice the difference.

Stop whining.

Except I know that they are there and I hear the sound. Fail. ;)

Cover your ears, then. And don't ever follow construction topics, look at pictures of rides, watch POV's, or talk to fellow coaster enthusiasts or the GP who have the cred.

14 track pieces left to go (maybe 13 it's been a while since I looked) and most of the remaining supports are already in place.

For as fast as this bad boy went up.. all things have been quiet lately.

I know, it's weird... they raced to a certain point and then seemed to stop construction.

There was still some stuff going on, but definitely not like before. I wonder if they did have some kind of bonus for beating a certain date, and then when they got rained out a few days realized that they couldn't hit the date?

Anyways, they're moving today. 3 track pieces already today.

Snap. I feel the trims killed Silver Star and all you can hear is the sound of them and in our case we just shouted "TRIM" each time.

^That doesn't go for every trim of course. Some are stronger, some are weaker. The ones on Diamondback and Apollo's Chariot are barely there as well.. but on Mantis you can feel your body for forward from the slowing down of the train. While it does create some awesome hang time in the loop.. it makes the drop a pityful shame.

I only have Silver Star to talk about lol. But that does kill the speed, well it did when we went on it anyway.

I need to ride more of them, just need to save up.

Hahaha, yeah Silver Star shouldn't even be in the same breath as Nitro, Behemoth or Apollo's Chariot, and, I imagine, this or Diamonback!

Ha, yah, I didn't even notice the trims on Diamondback, in fact I actually have no idea where they're located. Behemoth's are barely noticeable too.

Maybe they're just slowing down while it's too cold or something.. It has been pretty freezing lately :p .

I watched them install the transition into the helix while sitting in my mom's classroom at school. It was a pretty cool thing to see. I would have stayed...would've been better than AP history ;)
