What's new

The Games we play...

Duke Nukem Forever is Gold, it is finished, it is ready for release, it is finally to be, it has joined the Choir loud and easily seen, it's maker is done with it, it is an actual game.

What the actual flying ****.

Typical me...

I finally got around to playing Medal of Honor. I have to agree with all the reviews about the campaign - it's sooooooooooooooooooo disappointing. The story isn't very good and the graphics are horrific compared to what was shown in all the trailers. The gameplay isn't that bad, but I found it a little bit boring at times. Also, can we have one military FPS that does not involve the Russians? From what I have played of the multiplayer so far, I really like it. I like the overall gameplay. It's not a lone wolf kind of game like Call of Duty, but it still has the intensity that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 lacked. The weapon customization is pretty nice as well.

It's better than BF:BC2, but the campaign really killed this one.

7.5/10

Next on my list:

Portal 2
L.A. Noire
Brink

Valve have just released the first of three Portal 2 Soundtrack albums.

For your delectation.

The first teaser trailer for the new Tomb Raider game has been released. And it looks AMAZING.
The series has started all over again and the graphics have taken a big step up. Now you play as a young Lara so you see how it all started. Shame that the game isn't due out till next year. :(

In other news. Completed Saw II: Flesh and Blood 100% yesterday and got all the trophies. Glad I rented it as I did it 100% and completed it on all difficulties in just 3 days. Like the first one the game is nothing amazing.
There seems to be hardly any traps in this one and most are rubbish. The combat is still awful and is all quick time events. And the game is 90% a puzzle game with loads of puzzles such as turning disks to match colours, flicking buttons to put numbers in the right order and using using your torch to make uv paint glow to give you he combinations to locks.
The graphic have improved slightly since the first game although they're still nothing amazing and all the blood looks rubbish.
But yeah. It's a bit dull and doesn't feel anything like Saw apart from jigsaw and some traps. But it's one of those games that you want to keep playing and do it all in one go.
There's no replay value apart from going back and doing it on a harder difficulty (which didnt seem to make it harder at all) and letting you make a different choice at the start to get a different ending.

Nothing amazing and not worth buying at all. Worth renting if you're a Saw fan and want to play it or if you just like lots of puzzles.

Hideo Kojima said that there's gunna be a ZOE HD remake as well as SH 2 & 3 and some other crappy sounding thing.

WOO SH and ZOE!

Also E3 OMFG!! Lets start speculating even moar!

Played the No More Heroes 2 demo and got bored. Really repetitive and is just dull.

Also When downloading the 2 free games I downloaded one and then went to download my second one and they weren't showing up on the store. Apparently quite a few people have had this problem so if you do then here's what to do.

1. On your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB
2. Log into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List
3. Choose “PlayStation Network Promotions” from the list of services displayed
4. Select either “PS3 Free Games” or “PSP Free Games” and then choose “Select Content”
5. You will be taken to the store to choose your remaining free games."

Also I tried logging onto my American account and it lets you download the 2 free games from there. So if you have 2 accounts you can get all the free games. :p
I wish I knew this before as I would have got Ratchet and Clank with my main PSN account. Although hopefully I can log into my brothers account and get it from there.

But yeah Im loving the welcome back stuff. Just got to try and make the most of the free PS+ Games before they go (got to get as many trophies as possible :p). Most people don't realise that with the Welcome Back package you also get 3 free film rentals and 100 free items in Playstation Home.

It is though. It's run into room of enemies. Hit buttons and then do the same quick time event when their health gets low. So doing this 10-20 times per room with no change in gameplay is really boring.

In all honesty the realy charm of the No More Heroes Series is Suda 51's bizarre sense of humor and writing and the nerdy references. Demos these days are really poor.

Not even worth renting even if you are a Saw fan :L
And that's coming from a pretty serious Saw fan :D

To be honest though, why not just stick it into an animated comic?

I played the original Wii version and it was vaguely (repetitive) fun with some dreadful city exploration bits in between.

I loved the style and loved the humour, but found the game really lacking. It was all style and no substance.

Though I hate to agree with anyone who actually even loaded up Saw II after playing the first ;)

Expect a massive review of all the games I've been playing recently soon :)

No clue :D. The very first bit of story is told through a comic in the manual so its not like it wouldn't work.

I think it's actually going to take forever to download the stuff I'm downloading from the PSN. Infamous (7GB) is at about 43%, and has been going since Saturday midddayish. When that's done, I'll be downloading God of War I and II, which are a further 9GB each.
