What's new

Texas Giant opening date confirmed

I agree. Although I have never been on it, I'm sure that the Iron Horse treatment would not be really needed for Colossus. I think it'd fare better from the Topper Track idea. This type of makeover is really only for coasters that REALLY need it. And we all know those coasters.

Collosus DOES need it though. The ride needs its double down back like it was originally designed to have!

So going to ride the crap out of it this summer! :--D

new texas giant

Seems kinda slow. Should have added another 20 feet to the lift hill. How much airtime after the first innitial bump will there be?

No one's quite sure but by the looks of it, it may have some serious ejector. That's one man's opinion.

That's what she said......

It looks great for the first half, but the MCBR seems to really kill the speed for the scond half. Hoping that's only while testing, because it would be a real shame.

That's what I've been getting at. The curves look dead sexy, but if there is anything that kills them, it is hangtime, or slows through the turns. Case in point, Mean Streak.

Well no.. Mean Streak is just slow from the start. The turns doesn't really kill it.. it kills itself before it starts.

^ My point is, if a train is slow through high banked turns, creating hangtime, they are often crap.

Looks impressive hard to tell yet what the airtime will be like as it did not look that fast over the hills, I love the turns though and the 1st drop :)

Still going to be hard to tell what the ride is like until they release videos with fully loaded dummy trains. The extra weight usually lets it build up more momentum. IMO doesn't look like it wil lride slow at all.

Also you don't really know until you're on it. A lot of features I thought would be crap ended up being epic once you got on them.

True, looks can be really deceiving...
