Terrain Coasters

Ben and Jake rode Mountain Flyer over the summer and say it easily bested Boulder Dash. Having watched the POV, I can't see how they could be wrong :)

^Soooo jealous of them. I was hoping to hear a review like that though because I had a feeling it was better than Boulder Dash (and I haven't been on either) :-P

It just looks awesome...it's what I call a 'raging' coaster, which basically rages, i.e. it never really slows down until the final brakes!

If we're thinking real terrain coasters that never get off the ground then think alpine coasters (which can be made on rct3 platinum)

In terms of actual coaster goodness it's pretty useless but it does look quite fun if not a bit painful!

You really should look up what "raging" is actually used for.

And yeah, Mountain Flyer is the best coaster in the World. Suck on my big toe, because I've been on it.

Does a video ever do a coaster justice? Although I must say I am very impressed by the video so I'm glad it wasn't just a shot in the dark when I thought it was worth someone's top spot. Don't know if I will ever get the pleasure to ride it though...

I forgot Snails. For a kiddie cred, it uses terrain quite well <3.

I'd have though Eagles Fortress would have easily come top in this topic with being so close to the ground and within the trees.

Its a shame it was a suspended coaster and not an invert, that could have possibly been even better, but then again, of the two major invert manufacturers, Vekoma would have made it too uncomfortable and B&M wouldn't have made it intense enough.

Shame i'll never get a chance to ride it.

Eagles Fortress would NOT have been better as anything other than it was. Forget any experience you have of suspended coasters because its nothing like any of them.

Such a shame it's gone; I wouldn't be surprised to see an invert in its place.

It along with T-Express at the same park would have made the trip worth the money a hundred times over, quite possibly as good as a park here in the US with 10 coaster or more.

I thought it may have been a while before anything replaces it. I've never been to the place but from what i've hear about the amount of people that visit the park, they don't seem to be in any rush to build major coasters.

But according to RCDB there are plans to build a replacement for next year. Does anyone have any info to start a rumour or construction thread?

^Haven't heard a thing. It seems a bit late to start now for a 2012 coaster. Of course, there may be something happening that we just haven't heard about.

Actually, thinking about it, Everland is open year round. They don't have a "season" like we do, so technically they could be looking at getting something for later in the year rather than the March/April we'd expect for a Western park.

But yeah, I don't even know if Eagles Fortress has even been removed yet, only that it's been closed since late 2008/early 2009. A new coaster doesn't have to necessarily go in the same area, but it would be a shame not to utilise it.
