Since Skyrush seems to be invading every **** ing unrelated topic at the minute, here's a forum to talk about it, specifically the restraints.

Do they ruin a perfectly good coaster? Is it brilliant regardless? Blah blah blah get on with it...

Sheesh...worked up much? ; )

No. They didn't ruin it originally and they're better now.
People need to get over it. blah blah etc
There, it's been done!

Get over what, my opinion? Nah.. thanks. I'll keep it regardless of you silly little ladies who think otherwise. ;)

Old ones. But I don't care about the new ones as I haven't been.. and tbh.. more padding isn't going to make those restraints much better.. as even the people from Hershey have said. When they get a complete overhaul, I'll roll back and check it out.

From what I've heard the new padding has barely helped, but the bruising is nowhere near as bad as before.

^Bruising is a bit elaborate...

It was just slightly uncomfortable but eh, didn't make that much of a difference to me.

It isn't really that elaborate when everyone on your train got off to compare their bruises. Don't get me wrong I've had more painful rides on other coasters but I've never gotten bruises on my thighs on any of the rides I've ridden other than Skyrush.

I agree with Snoo. It is still a great ride, but it is very overrated. I rode in June with the old restraints and thought they took a top 5 coaster to a 10-15 coaster. It was still good, but it could have been great.
Since it is Intamin, I was expecting it to be a lot smoother, like Bizarro or I305, and it was really bumpy. If the restraints didn't ruin the airtime, then it would have been incredible.

^Were you riding it in the outer or in the middle seats? It's a huge difference tbh. It's really smooth in the middle seats but quite bumpy in the outer seats.. To me it doesn't matter since it's lapbars anyway and I find the "bumpiness" within tolerable limits.

As everybody can see my favourite coaster is Skyrush. I think that this coaster at the moment is playing in an entirely different league than any other coaster that I've been to! :--D It's just such a rush! Extreme possitives, extreme negatives, extreme speed and a very pretty coaster as well! The ending is a bit meh, and it could've had a slightly longer layout, but to me it's as close to coaster perfection as you can get right now!

Though seriously, I wonder if it'll be the "best new coaster" for 2012 and how highly rated it'll be.

Yes yes I know the Golden Tickets are a golden pile of crap but it's all we really got unless Mitch Hawker does still again (what was up with 2011?)

I rode in both. If I ranked it based on the outer seats, it would be terrible, probably wouldn't make my top 30. After I rode it in the outside seat for the first time, I rode it in the middle every time after that. The middle was really good, but still bumpy and not great imo.

Which has all been done before on vastly different rides......

^Have you been on Skyrush? I have never experienced any coaster with that strong forces! Yes, I305 can give it a match with possitives and speed. But I've never experienced such extreme negatives! And it's not just a pop of airtime, it's sustained extreme negatives!! And even though certain other rides have high G's or are pretty etc, I have yet to ride a coaster that combines every aspect as brilliantly as Skyrush does! <3

And what if it has been done before? Just because there's already a huge Intamin prefab in Germany doesn't make El Toro a less good ride?

Wont be until October, and then I will spam the living hell out of that ride.

My statement is more or less the whole "coaster perfection" bit you said. Millennium Force was coaster perfection back in 2000, Voyage was when it opened, Magnum was when it opened.

Skyrush is the same as I305, a glorified Megalite because we, as American park goers (excluding most enthusiasts) want height and speed over theme and ride quality.
