Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Iron Rattler really does look massive in those pictures. It’s easy to forget how tall it is when it’s still only the 3rd tallest coaster in the park..

Is Iron rattler the tallest coaster Vekoma has ever built? Their first coaster over 200 feet? Or am I imagining things?
Technically Big Air is over 200ft. But it's a shuttle

That's unbelievable considering they've built over 400 roller coasters but yeah I think you are right.
I also think it will actually be the best ride in the park. I mean FF is absolutely ground breaking and an incredible feat, but I'm not sure it will actually be all that good.

Agree with this, All the focus and hype will be on FF I can see it being meh and the coasters actually beating it for ride experience, Just hope they will have better operations then in the UAE

"Six Flags will bring its unparalleled management expertise, operational excellence and strategic insight"

That's a stretch if I ever heard one...
Well, it's Cedar Fair overlooking the company now, so I'd say that statements pretty fair.

On another note, does this mean I get free entry as a member? 😂

Nope. Definitely not going to have any issues with dust affecting the roller coasters or the ride experiences.

Not at all, lol.
A possible factor here is the active construction also kicking up dust. I’ll be curious to see how significant a role it plays during regular operation. I asked the ride crews at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi an honest question: “So, how necessary are the Formula Rosa glasses actually?” They replied that they rarely encounter actual sandstorms or dust levels that significantly impact rider comfort or necessitate ride closures. At least FF still has that windscreen!

The most perplexing environmental factor I still find is heat. Regardless of how you look at it, this is an outdoor park, and it will still require meticulous planning and pedestrian footpaths to make it bearable during the hotter summer months. I’m definitely curious to see how the final design unfolds.

Random side question; is the heat in the Middle East a likely reason behind a lot of their coasters being painted white?

Both of Ferrari World’s main coasters are, and this is as well, and I know that black and darker colours absorb sunlight and heat, so is there a chance that the choice of white colour schemes on a number of Middle East coasters is a measure to have them absorb as little heat as possible?

That probably plays a part, but I think it's more to do with the bleaching effects of the sun. Colours would fade faster in the harsh sun, so rather than have to repaint them all the time they've skipped straight to white paint
