^ Oh that is WEIRD. The gondola would've looked silly wrapped around the whole tower as well but those gondolas that aren't nearly as wide as the tower moving independently like an old fashioned Intamin drop tower, even weirder looking. Will say, does the tower really need to be that thick? The 134m tall Funtime drop tower at ICON wasn't that much thicker than a standard Funtime drop tower I don't think.

This one is both a launch tower and drop tower so there's just more "stuff" inside the tower. This one also goes below ground level so there's some additional height there too that you can't see but the thing is surprisingly beefy. The decision to do split vehicles is to keep the ride in service while different sections are undergoing maintenance, which I'm happy to see.

Definitely excited to ride this one though I know I be clenching pretty hard haha. Drop towers still get me a bit.

I saw some chat on X last night that 25th December is rumoured for the opening date. Sounds about right if they are sticking to a 2025 opening, as it doesn't look like it'll be ready to open long before the end of the year.

I was semi-contemplating stopping off in Saudi on the way somewhere else the week before Christmas, but decided it'd be too much of a gamble on it being open and decided on something totally different instead and to perhaps fit this in in 2026 (only as a through-stop, I'm not staying in Saudi for much longer than I have to!).
