Six Flags Magic Mountain | Unknown | Vekoma Thrill Glider | 2026

I had really hoped from the first drawing that they would be getting a double-launched terrain STC. Though, it's a wacky concept so it'll be nice to see how it plays out.

Waiting to hear more before I pass judgement. Modern Vekoma is great so I’m sure it’ll ride beautifully… I just didn’t expect this to be their first choice >.<

Parks really be buying anything but new gen Vekoma flyers
Sometimes I wonder if Phantasialand got an exclusivity deal on the prototype of FLY, kinda like Alton Towers had with Oblivion.

This Vekoma looks hilarious. I feel like the closed-in motorbike seats may detract from the freedom of being suspended; but I do look forward to swinging around and experiencing some unique sensations on this. Is it enough to get me back to Magic Mountain? No, but luckily X2 is anyway ;)

what a wonderful idea with the best of intentions. a launched suspended swinging coaster with moterbike seating, what could possibly go wrong...

This is all so dumb.

With considering the terrain they'll be using, a Harry Potter style Multi-Launch would have done just fine. And would have been something at least semi-exciting.

This is almost laughably yawnable.

What’s a Harry Potter multi launch? lol

Like Hagrids at Universal IOA - with straddle type seating (although Hagrids also has the side car too.) I guess the point is they mean multi launch, with potential switch tracks, possible drop tracks etc. A really dynamic ride without it being unnecessarily out there. The seating arrangement and tricks on Hagrids are made to fit the story.

While SFMM could theme this to something great and make the style of coaster fit, it does seem like an odd choice of seating to me for something that isn't likely to be highly immersive. Are we just choosing the strangest seating arrangement/coaster type to get a worlds first now, because theres no chance of anyone having the tallest/fastest/longest because Six Flags Quiddiya have blown that out the water? Because at some point you just have to say unique doesn't always mean the best option (*cough* worlds first family wing shuttle coaster with insanely low throughput *cough*). While it will be marketable, is it really the best option that will keep people coming back for years after the initial buzz dies down?

^ X2 says yes.

Also Hagrids is one of the most expensive coasters ever built .

To expect anything of that scale to show up at a regional theme park like SFMM is insane

I don't think they meant something to the scale of Hagrid's, rather the ride model itself.

SFNE is getting one this year. A motorbike coaster on the hillside on Magic Mountain seems reasonable.

^ isn’t that what they’re getting? The only real difference being under the track rather than over? I’m still not seeing the issue.

I'm perceiving the comment as questioning the decision of this inverted straddle coaster; and I'm on their side. I think this model would be just as good in a regular above-track straddle configuration and don't really see how being inverted would make this experience that much better other than being able to claim "first of it's kind".

But SFMM is known for their renowned "record breaking", "first of it's kind" coasters which is more than likely why they're investing in this.

^ I get that. But ANY coaster can be just as good above the track. Why build inverted coasters at all. Still seems like a silly argument against something being built.

Since we’ve never seen a motorbike coaster from this perspective, the closest comparison would have to be F.L.Y.

And if there are sections of the coaster really close to the ground, we could be looking at something fairly spectacular.

Time will tell
