Siam Park - The Water Kingdom

It's been ages since I've come back from Tenerife so I may as well start with the trip reports of the places I visited.
Siam Park is the newly opened water park on the south of the island. It's the largest in Europe and has loads of awesome slides. :)

We had an amazing view of it from where we were staying. From our front door and bedroom window we could see Tower of Power and some of the other slides as it was just over the road from where we were.

When we got there the place was heaving already. Traffic went all the way back down the road. Buses full of people were spilling into the entrance and taxis were shooting down the wrong side of the road to get there quicker.
Our hire car got the last space in the car park.
Here's the entrance.

The Siam Park buses that were getting even more people into the park. It was heaving.

Anyway we got into the park pretty quickly as we had already got our tickets. The reason the queue was so long as well was because they were forcing everyone to have their photo taken in front of the park and there wasn't a way round it.

The park logo when you get in.

Anyway we ran off to get the sunbeds for everyone on the beach area while the adults got the lockers. The only time I got photos from here on are either before we got in or after the park had shut so if there's no people in the shot it's the latter. :)

The themeing in this waterpark was INCREDIBLE!

They even had an epic giant dragon just as themeing for one of their slides.

To get to the beach area they had stepping stones you had to walk across that had a waterfall to the side.

Tower of Power. The parks signature slide dominated the whole area. It was super tall and the speed people went down it was amazing.

We got to the beach which had an amazing pool area. This is where they have the worlds largest artificial waves. Every hour or so a massive gong sounds for about a minute and everyone charges into the pool. The atmosphere was amazing as then massive pumps of water burst into the air above the building and a massive rumble was heard. Then a huge wave (3 meters high) appeared and was raging towards you. We were in the best bit where the wave rolled over (not sure of the proper name) so the wave came crashing down on top of you and sent you flying down the pool until you ended up far away from where you were. We tried getting nearer to where the waves came out but it wasn't as good as you just kinda floated over the top so we moved back to where we were. There were about 20 of these waves with one going every 30 seconds or so. It was so amazing.
Sadly I didn't get any photos of the waves as I was so busy enjoying myself. :p

We then put all our stuff in the lockers after going round almost the whole park trying to find them. We then went to the Lost City area as it was nearest. They had quite a few slides here. Small and twisty but the life guards told us were were too big for the area so I pretended to walk out but then nipped down the slide on the next level down. :p

We then moved onto Naga Racer which is like those wave slides you get but this one was really fast and you raced down on mats head first.

After this we did one of the big rides. Dragon was nearby so we got in the queue for that.
I wasn't expecting much from it as I've done one of those half pipe slides before and found it crap and I just thought it would be the same except in a cone.
I was wrong. This was the best slide I've EVER done. We must of made a really heavy boat with three fully grown people and one child. Before going into the cone there's a twisty tunnel section in the pitch black. We flew down it. Quite a few times I ended up vertical looking down and if I hadn't been holding onto the handles I would of got thrown out. We then went down the stupidly (but amazing) steep drop into the cone. We then went up and down for a while like you're meant to. It was actually really disorientating inside the cone as it was all slanting inwards and because it went all the way over your head there wasn't anywhere to look to get your bearings. The ring then came out the cone into another small flume section before going into the splash pool.

After Dragon it was getting on in the day and we decided to get some lunch. We went to this restaurant place near where we got the sun beds. The food here was great. I had half a roast chicken (in a waterpark I know :p).

5220_1221939705705_1145311439_697722_2908756_n.jpg

After lunch we went and got in the queue for Vulcano. It's right next to Dragon. It was getting hot in the queue so some of the staff came out with hoses and sprayed everyone down which was quite a good idea. :)
Vulcano is just a super sized space bowl in the dark but you go down in groups of four in a giant ring. Inside the bowl is sound effects and lighting etc. This was pretty fun as well but not as good as dragon. The drop into the bowl was really good though but we only did one rotation of the bowl.
(No photos of this slide unfortunately :( )

Next up we decided to get brave and do Tower of Power. T-shirts weren't allowed so we took them off and tied them to a post at the bottom. We got in the queue which is all steps that seems to go up and up forever. We finally got the the top and that's when I started to get nervous. :p
The tunnel you go though at the bottom is absolutely tiny and the drop was really high as well. My older brother decided at the top he didn't want to do it anymore so walked back down the steps to the bottom. I went down first after we all got a safety talk from the lifeguard. I then layed down and got into the 'correct' position and the lifeguard pushed me of the top. The first thing I saw was water as when you go off the top you get a face full of water. The drop was really fast and before I knew it was was down and into the glass tunnel that goes through a fish tank thing.
It slows you down before you plop into the pool at the bottom which considering the speed you come out is only 40cm deep.
Anyway some pics. :)

After Tower of Power we did these rapids that go down the left side of the park. To get up to the top was a long hill though and our legs were aching by the time we got to the top. These rapids were awesome. :D
It had a tight twisty layout, good speed and tunnel sections. We were all laughing all the way down.
No pictures of this either I'm afraid. :(
After the rapids we didn't have long left until the park closed. We headed back to the beach area but did a few of the Grass Snake slides.
5220_1221940585727_1145311439_697744_6415475_n.jpg

After this we went back to the beach area and waited for our dad to get the locker deposit back. We then walked out to go back (which is when I took most my photos). As we realised that you could walk to the park (we weren't sure because of the motorway) we walked back while some went back in the hire car.

We got on everything we wanted to and all the big slides. The only thing I wouldn't of minded doing was the lazy river. It went round for ages and then it had a conveyor that took you up and you then went down this bumpy rapids section before going through a glass tunnel through the aquarium with the Tower of Power slide above you.
I got some pictures of it though.

On the way out we got the photo of us (us and our cousins on my dads side of the family). I only got a photo of the photo but here it is anyway.

After and exciting yet busy day we left the park. :(

And that building in the middle of the photo is where we stayed.

And to finish off here's a video of the park that shows how amazing it is. :)

And that's it. Hoped you enjoyed it. Bet none of you read it all though. :p

Interesting PTR Ollie. I caught a documentary about this when I went DLP last. It looks like such a cool place and the management really love theming, always a bonus in my books. Looks so nice, clean and that dragon is just full of win.

I read it all. :) Seems like a fantastic water park, I would really like to go there. That Tower of Power thing looks really high and looks crazy how you go through such a small tunnel. The theming looks immense aswell, looks like a brilliant park.

That really is incredible theming for a water park. Shame there's a motorway right next to it, but I'm sure it didn't spoil your day.

Ollie

Nah the motorway was down a bank so you couldn't see it or hear it from inside the park unless you're up the top of Tower of Power.

You mean the "break"?

Agreed you about Dragon...Tornado slides are my absolute favourite. As you said, they work best when you have four fully grown people since you get a big dose of air when you first shoot up the wall.

So I take it the queues were pretty long all day?

One thing missing from your report though was the Mekong Rapids (the family raft slide)...Those are another slide type not to be underestimated, you didn't run out of time for that one did you?

That place looks awesome, and I'm not even a fan of waterparks! The theming looks amazing, and the slides look pretty killer as well, except NO to the Tower of Power.. God no, haha. I went down one of those before and I got the biggest wedgies of my life everr!

Sucks that it was busy but I am glad you had a good day.

P.S.- THAT DRAGON IS SCARY! It looks like a decaying horse.

Thanks for the report! I went to Siam Park too a few months ago, and I completely agree it is one truly spectacular park. This report brought back some great memories.

When I went, despite it being a school holiday, there were hardly any queues for anything. I presume it was the same for you? Tower Of Power was a walk-on for me, and Vulcano and Dragon were only 5 - 10mins each.

I agree about how awesome the wave pool is. As you said there is a wonderful atmosphere - everyone having fun together! That was one of the highlights for me.

With the beautiful theming, the friendly and enthusiastic staff, the cleanliness, the great food, and of course the superb attractions - Siam Park is by far the best water park I've been too. :)

Yeah the queues were pretty long. About 30/45 minutes for each of the big slides.
And we did do those Mekong Rapids. That's the one I said I had to walk up the long hill for. It was amazing but so was every other slide in the park. :)

I really want to go to Siam Park, it trully is land of the Pro-Slide!
Apparantly they have a contract in that whatever future slides they invest in, they have to use Pro Slide, I personally think that Pro-Slide are part-owners!

Anyway, great PTR!
