Rides that would die without their theme?

^Apart from Expedition Everest, I have to disagree on every coaster there.

Montu - Haven't ridden it, but from what I've seen the theming hardly makes the ride.

Oblivion - The hole is great. The drop would feel the same without it. G5 is just as good, in some ways better.

Nemesis - Been mentioned. It would look a mess, you wouldn't get the foot choppers, but that's it. It wouldn't be as good, but it wouldn't be killed either.

Colossus - That's a joke right? I'm assuming you mean at Thorpe? There's next to no theming as it is. Taking away what little it has wouldn't affect it in the slightest.

Black Mamba would not be the same thats for sure.

Europa Park's coasters are not great, but without a theme they would be even worse.

Space Mountain's all of them.

BTM's again all of them. Tbh all mine trains would be rubbish without a theme as shown at the Hard Rock Park.

Crushes Coaster DLP

I would say Saw, but thats not good even with the theme would hate to see it without.

Well with colossus, imagine it just being there, take away the fact it goes under the ground, take away everything apart from the track. It would look boring! At least they have jazzed it up abit.
As for Montu, the themeing for me pretty much made the ride, espeically if you sit at the front.

Well, from what I hear nobody would like X:\ No Way Out if it wasn't for the theming. Oh, wait...

I'll have to take the obvious option and say Infusion. I know it's not a great coaster anyway, but theming is a key aspect to most SLC's to keep them above average. Personally I feel that the theming on Infusion is pretty unique for an SLC, without it, it would seriously die.

Very, very minimal. It would look a tiny bit different. The overall experience of the ride would be almost identical.

Is there really much theming on Infusion though apart from the water effects. I thought there was more theming when it was TraumaTizer at Southport with the Moroccan theme.

Colossus does have theming, as in, there are shrubberies for the train to twist through and tunnels... and a puking curly haired fountain statue.

And nemmy wouldn't be meh as car park coaster, it would still be forceful, and as is mentioned a lot, what makes it a good ride isn't just the amazing theming, it's also that it doesn't follow the conventional big drop and low twisting layout, it slowly gathers speed and stuff...

Wow I need to get more sleep even my post quality is suffring...

^Yes but you notice the speed more as you're always close to the ground so it makes it feel faster as everything is flying past you.

^If you lost the theme, it could still be in the pit. Because that's landscaping, not theming, there's a difference :p

Nemesis would just be without a station, the river of blood, and a few other things. Nothing majorly different, but a little less special.

I'm going to play the trump card and say sewer rat at lightwater valley. It'd be just another ride without its great queue themeing.

A lot of rides seem amazing due to their invested themeing. But don't you think some rides would be nothing without it? Just the kind of ride that you'd ignore and critiscise?

What rides do you think would lose their appeal if it wasn't for the theme? and why?
I think Valhalla at Blackpool would be terrible without theming, as well as Nemesis at Alton Towers, King Solomon's Mines at the old Pleasureland Southport and quite a lot of things at Camelot

I think Saw would completly rubbish, theming makes a ride work, all rides actually suck but theming makes them become their names.
