If it makes you feel better, paint or incomplete theming is definitely not the reason- apparently the entire motor and lift cable drum are missing at the moment, per someone who rode Racer 75 and saw the site.
With that large of a maintenance issue, they clearly knew it wouldn't be ready for opening day, so announcing that just hours before the gates open is a pretty bad look. Oh well, at least they'll hopefully do more theme work in the meantime. The new paint scheme looks absolutely incredible in person, can't wait to get back on that beast!
