Re: Plopsaland de Panne & Holiday Park rumoured to get a GCI
I think this is a great choice, White Lightning is a brilliant woodie. Very quick with airtime a plenty. This will fit with the scale of the rest of Plopsaland, anything bigger and I think it would over power the park.
Should create a nice backdrop from the car park.
However I do hope they go for wooden supports as I think metal supports would ruin the theme, going by the concept art.
Re: Plopsaland de Panne & Holiday Park rumoured to get a GCI
If I were to choose two words to describe Plopsa DP, they would be "solid" and "substantial". It's a great park with rides that are well themed and thought out. Nothing at the park blows my mind but I enjoy everything they have to offer. I have no doubt that this coaster will be a substantial and solid addition to their line up. Yep, I'm excited!
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
Moved to construction since the Popsa coaster is confirmed. We'll need to start another topic if Holiday Park also confirms. Hopefully we'll get construction updates for both as well.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
White Lightning is my joint top woodie along with Fireball so this is great news.
White Lightning is hands down the most pure fun coaster I've been on in years. Its not hugely tall or thrilling but it throws you around like no ones business and is just a great laugh from start to end.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
Great choice in my opinion, I agree with Shawn that it's just the right size for the park and anything larger wouldn't "fit" the parks image.
But yeah, WL is fab, this will be fab, i'll be going again once it's built.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
Oh god this is gonna become another Taron style topic...
"I can't wait to see how heidi rides"etc....
Only it's more disturbing as Heidi appears to be a child.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
It's probably been mentioned in this topic but I feel like it should be pointed out (again) that apparently the majority of the theming won't be added till the 2017 season.
So far most of the construction has just been moving the railway line. Hopefully we'll start to see a lot more of the coaster going up soon.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
I don't know how I feel about this putting theming on after building the ride thing. In one way I think great, gives them time to focus solely on making that excellent, but on the other hand I think why wasn't time factored in to allow proper care and attention to be given in the first place?
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
^Agreed.
The 'ride first, theming later' thing seems to be becoming more and more of a thing. I can get it in some cases, but in this case, it just feels a bit weird. Would much rather have the full product from the get-go.
It's not putting me off visiting to ride it next year, unlike with Karnan this year, but it's a bit of a shame if that turns out to be the case.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
Considering there's actually not much theming for this, I think they'll build the station fully and it'll be the surrounding stuff that might not be completed. That's what happened with vickyland.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
I think it's odd that Plopsa would opt for this. With parks like Tripsdrill & Hansa Park, it makes financial sense to spread out the expenditure for tax and financing reasons, but for a park / company as large as Plopsa, I can't understand it.
Re: Plopsaland De Panne | unknown | GCI wooden coaster
Yeah, I think it's a bit odd as well.
I mean the coaster itself - which is really quite small - is not opening before more than 6 months from now and then they're postponing the theming as well? As some others have said, I totally get the logic with Kärnan, but this is pushing it.
