Discover The Magic has been speaking with Melanie and asked how the park had been performing since re-opening two months ago in May.

Unfortunately, Melanie explained that visitor numbers had been very poor. This has obviously disappointed all the staff at the park as they have been working very hard to help overcome the difficult times and poor recognition that the park has suffered in recent years.
It is believed that alot of people still think that the park is closed!

A marketing push in the next two months is hoped to recover the interest in the theme park and help boost attendance numbers throughout the two busy months of July and August.

Asked if any special events had been planned, Melanie replied that no plans are in place at the moment, but should things pick up during the 6 weeks school holidays then something for the end of the season may be possible.

Despite the negative attendance report, Melanie goes on to say that the new ride 'Shrieksville' has been received well, now that the ride is completed it is proving to be one of the most popular attractions at the park.

my gut feeling is that while the park will survive it's more recent problems, it will do so at the loss of some of it's better rides, like the boomerang and pendulous. I actually suspect it relied on the FL annual pass more than anyone realise. It would be interesting to see how FL themselves are fairing this season...
