The Apps I have on my phone all the time:
Telegraph
News app from the newspaper people. Covers everything in great detail. Minimal celebrity news. Sport, travel, mortoring. It's brill, best news app out there. And it's free!
Sky News
News app from the trashy Sky network. If I can't be bothered with the facts but want to know what's happening in the world, this app does the job. Free.
Shovel
App version of
http://digg.com Brilliant for finding strange and interesting news stories not in the mainstream.
TVGuide
Yeah...
AppMiner
Displays all the new apps and lets you watch apps so you know when they're on sale. Great way of discovering new games and splurging cash on apps if you're a whore like me.
AppBox Pro
Currency coverter, date calculator, Days Until countdown, flashlight, random number generator, ruler, translator, unit converter etc...all in one app!
Traffic Info
Traffic information app taken directly from
http://www.trafficengland.com. Free!
Trapster
Lists speed cameras in your area. Has the ability to include "live speed traps" but is dependant on users. Ok, but not excellent. Handy if you want to check an area before driving there.
Around Me & NearMe
Both apps can find local amenitiessuch as post offices, pubs, super markerts, petrol stations etc
The Weather Channel
By far the most reliable weather app I've found.
Runkeeper
Uses GPS to track your run/bike ride. Uploads your journey to their website and allows you to see the route and loads of stats. Drains battery but is worth it.
NME Radio
Loads of indie music without the chat. Best radio app for my taste of music.
Shazam
Everybody has this one. Hold the iPhone to the a piece of muci and it'll tell you what it is.
TuneWiki
Use it to play a song stored in your iPhone and it'll display the lyrics karaoke style!
FotoSafe
Lets you store personal, private and porno photos and is protected by a pin
Drinks Free
Ideal for parties where there's plenty of leftover booze. Type in what you have and see what cocktails you can make.
Planets
Geeky one I like. Tells me what the stars in the skys are.
I also have about 150 games, not all of them on my iPhone at once, but I'd recommend the following:
Drawrace, DeerHunter, FlightControl Ar.AahH!!, Westbang, Trvial Pursuit, Dotopop, Castle, TapTap revenge 2, Harbor Master, Subway, Trace, Racer, Taxi Jam, Spider and Lion Pride.
I have just shy of 250 apps in total. The majority of them are free/lite versions but if you're willing to pay a few pence, you can get some good time killers. And let's face it, time killing is what the iPhone is best at.
