Parc Astérix : Goudurix Retracking

I'm sure they did it a couple of years ago, besides you're all cry babies made of glass if you think it's rough!

It's not that rough, I really enjoyed my first go on it not so much the 2nd but I think that was more down to my back.

Yeah it's not that rough. Pretty sure the last thing I read was last closed season? They re-worked some of the tight snaps (which is where people claim it's 'rough') but I think they were planning on finishing the project this year? It was definitely something they planned to do in stages.

From my one lap, I thought the damned thing ran on square wheels and the transitions in that butterfly element were modeled with pipe cleaner and shaped with sledgehammers.

Reason being I was chopped in the jaw so hard by the OTSR I actually thought I'd broken my jaw or at minimum a tooth.

Must have just caught it on a bad day.

It's not glass smooth that's for sure, but as I had heard horror stories I was expecting the worst and enjoyed it.

It's the 2nd best coaster in the park after oz.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed it as such, but you're spot on about it not being as bad as people make it out to be.

To be fair, I rode it the first season it had been refurbished and so it really wasn't that bad at all. Just a bit jolty and rattly in places.

^ Exactly this. I think I rode fairly soon after some kind of retracking, and I didn't find it too bad at all.

I guess a lot of it is down to expectation though. I was expecting it to practically kill me, and it didn't even come close. Perhaps if I'd heard nothing about the thing, I'd have labelled it as "rough". Impossible to know really.

I rode it before all the retracking projects started. (@2000) The butterfly (which I was looking forward to because it's so rare) was by far the worst part. I'm sure the modifications have been to correct that problem.

Snapping? After doing Tornado at Bakken last year, Goudurix is a silky, flowing puff of summer breeze

Tornado's awesome!!

Goudurix certainly had some bad neck choppers, but the thought of a reride doesn't fill me with the same dread as say, baco or kanonen.
