Overrated and Underrated Coasters

Overrated
Millennium Force
Raging Bull
Superman
Fahrenheit
Maverick- even w/o the roughness i still don't think it would be as good as people make it sound
Hades

Underrated
Cylcops
Zeus
Stormrunner
Batman Clones
Lightning Racer
Wicked Twister
Blue Streak
Wildcat (CP)

If you're saying Maverick is overrated then you must not have:
1. Rode it

and/or

2. Your expectations for rollercoasters are incredibly high

BECAUSE

Maverick has pretty much everything you would want on a coaster

But I do agree with MF being overrated

Over
Boulder Dash
Katun
I-305
Alpengeist (maybe just because I'm not a massive fan of huge inverts to be honest)
Intimidator at Carowinds

Under
Nitro
Cornball Express
Voyage (yes, it gets a lot of praise but deserves more)
Beast <3
Air (too much slander and it's the only flying coaster I've been on that simulates flying decently)

Over
X2 - This thing is unique I'll give it that, but it's rough and the headache is not worth the praise it gets.
Alpengeist - I was disappointed with this, but just doesn't have the ride most B&M inverts do.
Magnum XL-200 - The praise of this thing is finally dying!

Under
Great Bear - Yeah it dies at the end, but still one of the best inverts!
Fahrenheit - Another Hershey gem that has a lot of elements to like in a coaster.
HellCat - It's not huge, but you never hear about it, and it is a great coaster if you ask me.
Hades - Someone said overrated? I rarely hear about this thing and is one of the most unique coaster experiences!
Patriot - Another invert that gets overlooked. Zero-G-Roll :--D
Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit - I know lots of people hate it, but I enjoyed it and think it deserves a little more praise.
Space Mountain, Disneyland - Its theming saves it yes, but this is amazing! A smooth Vekoma with Disney Theming and nobody talks about it.

I won't touch Boulder Dash until I finally get to ride it. I will have higher expectations than just about any coaster I've ridden when I do get to Lake Compounce and get on it.

When i have very high expectations of a coaster i tend to be disappointed. I would reccomend you ride it just like its any other coaster rather then thinking its going to be the best coaster in the world because then you could very possibly be putting it in your overrated list

I'm sorry but Voyage is pure and simple more overrated than MF. After just riding it 8 times today in a variety of seats my best description would be that the middle seats are boring, the back a really ride up until you leave the tunnel after the MCBR and the front was nothing special. Honestly in the back the first drop was great, the first two hills were okay and the spaghetti bowl was great, it was just the perfect amount of roughness a woodie should have and some good airtime and lats. After leaving the tunnel after the MCBR it just gets dreadfully rough and a swear it tried to give me a concussion even in every seat I tried and there wasn't any good airtime to speak of. I rate Raven about even with it just due to the roughness with Legend being a bit behind. It's sad when the best airtime in the park is on a 75 foot tall S & S shot tower.

The Mid Course bites hard at times. When I was there in June it bit hard enough to make me jerk forward. The next day it was practically non-existent and she screamed through the rest of the course. I will admit that Voyage is a rough ride, and overrated she may be, but that is mainly from the first year it opened and how smooth it was. The ride has kept a consistent pace and rerideability to keep up with the overhype you hear as well.

After the midcourse, they have said that they will be retracking the main trouble spots during the off season for next year (with hope for the Timberliners). If you want to see overhype of Voyage, just wait til the new trains are added into the mix.

It's just to hard to ride something and NOT that expectations when every single enthusiast creams over how amazing it's suppose to be, and how it's meant to be better than sex and blah blah.

I forgot about Wild Mouse at Blackpool. That needs to go in the underrated category! I was actually having hysterics the entire way through and was pretty much terrified for my safety, haha.

I understand, it is difficult because you think you've lowered your expectations but deep in side you are still expecting the ride to be amazing. For example, I was really hyped up before riding Oziris because the videos looked great and people gave really good reviews and even though the first half was incredible, after the dive under the water the ride seemed a bit dull in comparison.

All the times I rode it it just crawled into the MCBR and if it bit at all it was unnoticeable. It went pretty fast through the rest of the course but it just had some really bad vertical and lateral jackhammering especially in the final few turns and the one where the picture is taken. The biggest letdown was that all of the airtime was just a weak to moderate floater everywhere except a few vertical bumps in first airtime hills, the first drop and the final dip in the tunnel after the MCBR where it was a weak ejector.
