New Coaster For Paultons

I always love the construction diaries, like Peter said shows they care about their rides and it creates interest not only by us but also the GP.

Yep but none of them call its a coaster :)

I was sort of joking anyway tbh, for the park its a great addition. I did not go on the one in Germany as I felt ill at the time.

Yeah, not the best ride to go on if you're feeling a bit woozy!

As you say its a good addition for Paultons. The one at Kings Island was alright, pretty good for kids and adults.

Erol will be gutted.

From what I've been told, the ride is "fantastic". Well, you would expect marketing people to say that! Somehow though, I trust PP to be honest.

Anyway, some more pics from today!

It's great to see PP getting so big now. Before it was a quiet park with a couple of rides you usually find in fairs. It's still family friendly but since Cobra was added which was a massive investment for the park it seems that they're getting better by the year. :)

Just look at the size of that thing. Although I've been on and seen the one in Movie Park Germany this still looks impressive. :)

You'd all better hope that hill is smoother than the Movie Park one, or else you'll never be having children...

This will definitely make trips down to Paultons a bit more worthwhile. Whilst I like the feel of the park as it is, I don't think that riding Cobra over and over again is necessarily good value for money.

Word.

That thing was bad.

Looks exciting... atleast it has a hill!

Compared to the Liseberg one that is :)

^ i'd be careful what you ask for, for fear of having your name and address printed in the News Of The World.

Pauton’s February fixture

Paultons will be one of several British amusement parks opening this February for the ‘half-term’ school holidays. Visitors to the park in Hampshire will get a sneak peak of the new ride for 2009 – The Edge – during the nine-day opening period (February 15 to 23).

The new attraction, pictured below, will take its first riders a month later and is the UK’s first Zamperla Disk ‘O’ Coaster (see the ride’s microsite). It will be joined around Easter by Water Works, a spray playrground added following guest requests. “Weather permitting it I think it will be exceptionally popular with our younger guests!” says the park’s Ron Griffiths.

Paulton’s established attractions include the awesome Cobra rollercoaster, Raging River, Wave Runner and last year’s new ride, the Sky Swinger (Zierer Wave Swinger).

“We have been busy getting the park ready to ensure it is looking its best when we welcome our first guests in 2009,” adds commercial director Stephen Lorton.

Despite the time of year, the weather can actually be relatively fine in February, and with children on holiday from school it makes perfect sense for parks and attractions to open their gates over the period – in fact some have previously reported very busy weeks indeed. Paultons reopens ahead of Easter on March 27, with the official opening of The Edge planned for Saturday, March 14.
