Legoland California are also getting a Ninjago dark ride, so could possibly be something very similar? Looks to be one of their 'Interactive Dark Rides' http://www.trio-tech.com/products/idr-2/

What I was thinking more of was if Merlin have gone for a bulk buy as a ride system, but after seeing on Screamscape Legoland Cali are building a similar area. That would be Merlin getting there bulk buy.

Looking at the above image does somehow remind me of Mindcraft for some reason.

It just seems such a shame that Windsor has such huge issues with planning that we will not see a similar addition there.
