Here is a nice find, This band is called M83 they are a dream pop/ Shoegaze band from france. They have a really nice sound, like they are stuck in the 80s, and there is nothing wrong with that. They have a couple of album, but I started with Saturday = Youth, which is supposed to be their best. Nothing else to really say anymore, just listen.

Saw them live back in January, absolutely fantastic

The atmosphere when they played Midnight City (from Hurry Up, We're Dreaming) was sublime.

Amazing tune.

I remember hearing Midnight City a few weeks ago on Annie Mac's friday night show on Radio 1! I've been in love with it ever since!

Lovely summer chillout vibes from deadmau5' latest track!

Huge deadmau5 fan.. great song.

Here's another of his newer songs I can't stop listening to. I love the interpolation of the Close Encounters theme.

EDIT: Apparently the Soundcloud link wasn't working, so here's a Youtube

^ After 3 years of waiting I FINALLY got to see deadmau5! He was headlining a local festival! I was actually so close to tears when he finished! He finished with The Veldt, and I couldn't believe my life!

Makes me proud to walk round with a deadmau5 head tattooed on my belly :)

Man, I'd love to go to a deadmau5 show.. I'm sure I'll manage it someday. Guess I'm not as big a fan as you, though... the tattoo is pretty extreme. I've just got a whole bunch of his music & bought a T-shirt :p

Fiona Apple's pretentiously titled new album, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, came out today, and it's fantastic.

It's been seven years since her last one , and it's not the usual character assassination of ex-boyfriends that her three previous albums have been. It doesn't really have any "sing-a-long" songs on it though. I've got a feeling the critics are going to w@nk all over it since it's so different from her older stuff.

I'm loving it, but bitch is looking like crap these days. Unless it's deliberate.

Tired of **** mainstream music? Want music too good to be called music? then check out Merzbow, this Japanese musician is one of the most successful noise artists out there making over 30 albums, and all the albums are radically different. I cant describe the music, check it out for yourself:

Don't forget about Hanatarash for some tasty licks to your auditory organs.

^ and ^^

What a load of absolute Tommy Tank. Just because something comes out of Japan doesn't automatically make it cool and edgy.

I never thought I'd say this.... EVER.

It's actually quite a FAB album <3 [Blates only because every other track features a decent artist.]

... he's still a ****, though.

These two are amazing. I saw them supporting Robyn in 2010 and they were just the most insane warm up ever.

A very 80s song.

Found some Czech Republic version of X's got Talent and there was a cool robot dance guy dude and used this song in it.

I kinda like it. Is the rest of the Boards of Canada* stuff this chill out?

*Btw I've heard Beware the Friendly Stranger and have watched Salad Finger... No.

Really enjoying Jack White's new album, Blunderbuss... Well off and on; it's a bit odd.

There's his typical blues/rock type stuff, but a lot jazz mixed in there too and sometimes you'll find a single song has blues, jazz and folk all in the same track. It's good though.

Favourite track is "Love Interruption"

Ever since I've decided this was a metal summer there is one band I cannot stop listening to, it's a recent discover called Thy Catafalque. Now I didn't know much about them to begin with other than they are a 2 piece band from Hungary, but I wasn't expecting much since I hadn't downloaded a truly great metal album in at least a year. As usual I was wrong, this band is brilliant, taking a normal boring concept of black metal and turning it on it's side including stuff such as heavy synths, melodic (borderline operatic) vocals, and symphonys, all of this to create a sound that's is truly unique and an amazing sound that can finally be called great metal.

And to answer a possible question: No they don't really have an note worthy songs under 8min

This isn't a recommendation as such (don't expect anyone else to like it really) so much as it is yet another excuse to fangirl <3

Utterly gorgeous! Bring on August <3

This song and band are so **** bad-ass. \m/ And not in a lame 'hardcore' way, they don't need any breakdowns, screaming or rapping to sound cool. Just Progressive sexiness!
