Merlin buys Cypress Gardens, to be Legoland

Re: Merlin buys Cypress Gardens

I had to dig deep to find this topic, so BUMP here it is.

This morning Legoland Florida announced on their social media channels that the park will open on 15th October.

Risky, because isn't that at the peak of the hurricane season?

I think its towards the end of the hurricane season.. Sounds like quite a good idea because then they get both the busy Halloween period and the peak Christmas time too.

They're posting daily(ish) construction images on their Facebook page.

So we know they've kept at least one of their coasters then. Does anybody know which one this used to be?

Jordan, the one you see them building there is the old Jungle Coaster from Windsor...

I've put a news item on the front page explaining that, should anybody care. No? Ok then! <3

Just been reading updates and views of the park.

Many are complianing that the park is not worth going to as a family as the park seems to be for young kids and not adults or teens. Other are saying there is no point going as they have been to the one in the UK and California so they would rather save their money for the other parks.

Maybe they would have been better keeping some of the more grown up rides so cater for everyone?

Am sure when it opens they will do ok as they will probably bundle the ticket it with Sea World and BGA, if not we could see the park fail yet again.

I doubt a legoland park would ever fail to attract visitors...

Anyway why didn't they keep storm surge (or whatever it was called when it was at Cypress gardens)

They are going to lay on one bus a day charging $10 round trip leaving Orlando outlets at 09:00 and you have to be there at 08:30. The outlets are going to be very hard to get to that time of the day unless you drive, plus if your staying at Disney or Universal you are looking at a 30 min drive so you may as well just drive to Legoland :)

They would have been better running the bus from the same place they do for BGA, unless of course they plan to move them to there as well.

As I said by reading what a lot of people are saying there is not much interest in the park, its nothing new to whats around the world already. Its the sort of place people will go once and not go back again unless they keep adding new things. Plus they are not catering for the whole family just a young ages range.

For me it will be a credit run, simple as that really.
