"Maya the Bee My Valentine" - Plopsaland Live - 15 February 2025

Not long to go now! Looking forward to seeing you all by the giant door of Plopsaland on Saturday.

- Please bring one small item of theme park tat for the raffle (can literally be anything, the sillier the better!)

- If you haven't already, please let me know if you are coming to the Live. You can do this via DM privately on here, or by posting in the topic, or message me if you have me on social media. I am preparing activities and I need a correct amount of numbers of attendees. Please don't just show up without telling me.

I've seen the concerns for RtH, and I'd honestly say don't worry about it - I've visited Plopsa in the winter months many times and I'm sure it will open for a few hours at the very least :)

So my flight on Thursday has been cancelled due to strikes. With the potential for the strikes to cause further issues and how cold it has been I have decided to sadly pull out of the trip. I will be able to get some refunds on most of my bookings so maybe I'll do the next one?

Hopefully Ride to Happiness opens for you all and I apologise for the short notice cancellation.

Confirming I'm still coming! Staying at the Campanile in Ghent and will be hanging around Bruges on Sunday if anyone wants to join me.

Just confirming that I'm still coming. Flying out on the Friday and staying in Ghent. Think I might try and do Bruges Saturday evening if I have time as I fly back on Sunday afternoon.

With deep regret, I’ve had to pull out for ‘medical reasons’ (don’t worry, I’m still alive and being a menace, just currently functioning on a reduced ‘semi-menace’ basis ❤️).

Very sorry - I hope all attendees have a fab time 😍

Hi! It looks like we're all staying in different places but it'd be lovely to get a drink or dinner together tomorrow evening!

Quick note for those staying in Ghent and getting train to park. Looks like there'll be track maintenance this weekend closing the direct route between Ghent and De Panne. Trains are still running but taking the long way round.

In order to arrive on time, the last time you'll be able to catch leaves Ghent at 07:53, arriving at de Panne 09:22. This is also the train I'm planning on catching so may see you there. :)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll probably see you on the train.

I had a really nice time with all of you guys, regardless of the spites, and there are some hilarious moments that will definitely stay with me. Namely:

Our consolation photo and the parade interrupting it, us dancing along with the performers, the slide, four of us getting on the boat and nearly falling in (Jordan: "Bail! Bail!") and grown adults trying out the equipment at the children's playpark... and inevitably falling off.

Really looking forward to the next one! I also picked up 5 new credits, taking my total up to 137, and Heidi: The Ride and Super Splash have both landed in my top 50!

I'm still smiling and laughing at jokes from our Saturday at Plopsaland:

"Bumbastruck!"

Chanting "Plop! Plop! Plop!" as Mr Plop himself appeared in the parade

The image of the lads dancing around to the EDM Stage Show music 😂

The slide and boat fun in Mayaland

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for not just showing up, but showing up with high spirits and good humor. Our lovely group was what made the day special and I really appreciate all the fun we had!

Feel free to share these group photos anywhere you wish :)

"All of the roller coasters are closed." Nightmarish words for a group of enthusiasts to be confronted with at the gates of a park - and pretty much exactly what happened to the group of 10 goons who gathered at Plopsaland De Panne for a CF Live. We did our best to keep our spirits up, a lingering doubt followed us as we went to get our photo taken with the punny mascot of the trip - Maya the Bee.

The first part of the chilly day was all about dark rides, Bos Van Plop and Bumba's World Trip. There were plenty of jokes to go around ("You've been... BUMBA-STRUCK!") and we were making the best of things. We wanted our coaster fix though, Plopsaland rolled its eyes, said "ok fine" and opened Heidi. It was a fun ride, a little bit of airtime, relatively smooth - a definite shot in the arm. Morale was up, we just had to believe. Ride to Happiness was going to open. While we waited, we scooped up all of those lovely +1s for people who didn't already have them. Some even rode DinoSplash, which seemed like a bad idea on such a cold day, but you don't get that wet.

The delirium began to set in, we fed the goats, some played on those spring rocker things that you get in playgrounds, falling over to the amusement of all. We raced on those slides that you ride in burlap sacks. We risked wet feet on a freezing day on this weird indoor raft thing. Things that we wouldn't have even looked at twice if Ride to Happiness was open were a source of joy and merriment. I developed a keen appreciation for the attention to detail in the park.

Time passed. Eventually it became clear that the dream was dead, Ride to Happiness would not open, all was lost.

We raged against the dying of the light, dancing, chanting the name of Plop, lapping Heidi, mourning what could have been...

I think this trip proves that with the right people, you can compensate for one of the best rides in the world not being open. I had a wonderful time! Many thanks to @Serena for organising and to @Slamming Coastercore for giving me a lift there and back again. Looking forward to the next one!
