"Maya the Bee My Valentine" - Plopsaland Live - 15 February 2025

I've been doing some digging and there's a bus you can get from London to Bruges, then a local train from there to the park area. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than the train or flying, so I'm thinking of doing that.

Hi all, as Serena mentioned, similar to the Thorpe Live we will be doing all the usual CF games in between lapping RTH! As such, the faffle (raffle) will be on again, as is tradition. So if everyone can please bring a prize to donate (as you'll remember, value can vary wildly) then that would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, just curious to get an idea of numbers, if you're definitely coming please give this a 😍 react!

After a few months of considering this, I've just booked my flights and hotel! I'll definitely be there on Saturday. Considering a 2nd day on Sunday but may have a sightseeing day round Bruges instead.

Unfortunately Aidan has had car troubles and now his Sister is part of a show on the 14th that she wants him to see. I am gutted but hey ho, bring on the next 1....... and more 🤞

I've been looking at the weather, and just as a heads up I would say don't get your hopes up about Ride to Happiness being open - the website says it is closed today due to cold, and the weather is looking colder next week than it is today. Anubis is open today though, but if it's colder I'd imagine that will close too.

I will be pissed if I miss this cred, but it is what it is I suppose.

Woah, didn't realise they had temperature limits on the coasters. RtH says closed < 6 degrees, Anubis < 5 degrees - even the kiddies also close < 5 degrees! Heidi doesn't seem to have a specific temperature on it. Whenever I check the De Panne weather forecast for Saturday it's gone down slightly, now predicted 3 degrees...! But at least it no longer says 'sleet and rain'. Time to place bets on this being a monumental group spite?! 😅

They have temp limits, but unlike some parks (ahem Merlin) they do constantly monitor throughout the day, rather than write the ride off for the day. As soon as it gets above that temp they'll begin the opening tests. I've been several times in the winter and had to wait until afternoon for RTH. This has the added bonus, since you're all a bunch of bloody nerds, that you can watch the entire opening sequence, including the manual swing launches on each launch.

Hope you have a blast, wish I was there. :/

I was looking yesterday and it appeared to be open for the last 3 hours and that's was at 5 degrees according to BBC weather. The family coasters were also open all day, even when temperatures were lower, if that's true then maybe there are other factors involved.

Out of interest, does anyone know why those temperature limits might be in place? I thought that most coasters/parks were closed in European climates over winter for commercial reasons, not operating reasons.

Maybe risk of valleying if they run too slowly...? Can't think of anything else!

The RTH temperature used to be 5c. No idea when it went up to 6c, or why.... But they have had it stall / valley a few times, so can possibly connect the dots.

It stalled on the top hat thingy on19th Feb 2022, so around this time of year too! But they have added drive tires to that section since.
