It has been my experience over at their water park that if you are moving fast with water involved you can't really see animals even if they are close by. I think that would be the problem with this idea. I still don't see how the word "dissapointed" could rightly be used in this thread. I've learned to not hope for too much with rides (that way I won't be let down) .duxstar said:I might be the only one who is a little disappointed in this ride ............ not because it looks like a "bad" coaster or anything, but when it was first announced my first idea was just so so cool, but alas impossible. I wanted this ride to have a section where your like just in the "flying position" a mere few feet above the water and looking down into this aquarium full of manta rays as your speeding. Kind of like your looking down into the aquarium because the ride is making you, and for about a couple hundred feet (we'll say 10 seconds) you were actually riding WITH the manta rays. Obv this idea is unsafe for the animals (kids spitting into the aquarium, losing stuff in there, people doing all sorts of disgusting things into the pool) but probably wouldn't be too safe for the ride itself (massive flooding could make the water rise or something I don't know), but the ride would truly be epic if you could just almost "skim" the water with the manta rays ..........
This was a great report. The videos answered a lot of questions. This is my first close-up few of a coaster as it is being constructed. On top of that, this park is twenty-five minutes from my house!
I get to drive by it everyday. The ride itself seems to be turning into what I have expected within the last few days. I don't know if "thrilling" or "exciting" are the right words to describe the themeing, but the video that went into detail about the aquarium, rock wall, and waterfall blew my socks off. None of this ruined any surprise, but instead made me want to get to this experience even sooner.
I have one question. Should any of the in-line inversions be called a zero-g roll? I heard that has some air-time. I love coasters and I have been on plenty, but I'm not sure that I know the small differences between some of the elements.
