Liseberg 2010 - Press day pictures posted

This sounds very interesting...

As mentioned earlier, the southern area with the old factory might also be a possible place, but I guess Balder and Kanonen make up quite a "wall" at that side of the park. Any paths going there would be a little off the beaten track, and get clogged with people every day the sun shines.

Then, on the other hand, aren't there an awful lot of neighbours just past the top of the mountain? The only place I can see where noise wouldn't be an issue would be the gardens, with the Universeum being the only neighbour to that part of the park (and that is big and soundproof). But I can't really see them build anything in the gardens (not to mention that it would clog up the entrance; parks want people to go as far in as possible).

Liseberg needs a few more inversions, an Invert would be well suited. If they could build it so it interacted somewhat with Lisebergbanan, it would be awesome.

I don't think a expansion south of Balder won't happen for a while since they don't own that much land in that direction and there is a road between the facotries and Balder. I really hope that they get the opportunity to buy the factories in the future, since that will clear up a lot of land to build on, and you can easily get a path under there, you just need to reconfigure the queue on Balder.

Yes there are a lot of apartments there, but I don't think that it's that much of a problem, since the ones that are complaining about the noise are the ones on the other side of the motorway in the other direction. And with the drop tower at that edge, not to forget the really noisy trams that run on that road between the houses and Liseberg, so I don't really see any troubles with a new coaster there. Especially seeing that new coasters runs really silent and if you design them so that the drops and other scream inducing elements have the train facing the other direction then it won't make that area much noisier than it is today.
I don't really think that they will add any attractions in the garden area, the only thing I can see there is that they move the harbour wheel there after the permit expires (unless they get a new one). Since then they could have an access to the wheel from outside the park, so that they can run it without having the park open.

I'm all with you on the Inversion bit. But I would guess that adding something "smaller" on the mountain (Eurofighter, El-Loco, etc.) would suit the area a lot better and then get some big coaster for the new expansion into the southern parking lot. But if they could make it interact with the other attractions then it will be a bonus (encircling the shot tower is a dream of mine).

They desperately need something to draw "new" crowds up the mountain, there are usually less people there and most of the attractions are aimed to an older audience. So that is the space to watch.

Thanks to my sister that lives in Gothenburg I have now acquired some images of the wheel at night, and I have to say that it looks great!!

I even think it looks even better after they turn of the flood lights, in the middle of the night.
