Hixee is more correct than you are Tay. She'd never ever do anything like that, so my right hand and I are still close friends. But, I continue to not look at porn, not even soft porn. Day 2 - so far so good.

Nothing for me this year. I already can't drink carbonated or caffeinated beverages because of track. If I tried to give up anything else, I wouldn't succeed. I have such little willpower....

I'm giving something up. I'm giving, giving up, up. Ha. I never stick to this, it's pointless. Last year it was, "I'm not going to go out or get drunk". Not that I realised, I was walking home at 3AM just like 6 hours or so later...

I don't think Lent is so much a religious thing anymore. More of a willpower test. One which I invariably fail normally :lol:

I'm cutting down on drinking but it's not really for lent... haven't CONSUMED much for a few weeks now. The hangovers were getting too bad (throwing up what feels like toxic, acidic nuclear waste in the morning after every night out), and out here it's so expensive to drink in bars.

However, my cigarette intake has increased significantly whilst being in Italy (which is hardly suprising, the population probably consider a 20 deck as one of their five a day).

I totally agree with Ed's point about it being more a test of willpower than a test of faith these days. I'm not religious but I've decided to give up Facebook for lent, because it's getting on my nerves and I was looking for a good excuse to get rid. I also realised I've NEVER given anything up for lent, even when I was in a catholic school until the age of 18. I'm hoping it's easy. It's not like it's fags or booze. If I can't stick to it I'll be so disappointed. Dependence on cigarettes etc is one thing, dependence on a social networking site is another kettle of fish entirely. We'll see!
