Kursaal Cyclone

I'm new to this but am wondering if anyone can remember the Kursaal Cyclone. I rode it in around 55 years ago. It was a first for me.Lately I've been checking old Pathe Newsreels etc and I've a couple of Joyland books on the subject. One thing bothers me though. I seem to remember that after the train left the station there was a left turn followed by a straight run with some bunny hops before the lift hill. Can anyone confirm this or have I imagined it? I've rode many coasters since but most of them go, more or less, straight into the lift hill (other than the Blackpool big dipper).
