Intimidator name at Caro and KD to go bye-bye?

^CF actually has made steps toward making parks feel more nostalgic over the years. At KD they've been spending the last few years on it with additions such as the return of the singing mushrooms. KI also renamed Flight Deck after their old Bat prototype. And Cedar Point's new Gemini Midway was renovated keeping the 80's feel of the area in mind.

I do agree it would confuse the public, though.

I don't think they will though. It was more of an idea a few of us had at the Coaster Crew event that I thought was worth sharing.

I really have a feeling that this will just be a repeat of what's happened to the Top Guns around the country. Change the name to something stupid that has to do with racing (seriously, I'm not sure I wouldn't put money on SpeedWay and SpeedWay 305) and remove anything with Dale Ernhardt on it and just let the ride's theming slowly and painfully wither.

I've seen themes for three Kings Island rides slowly wither away over the years under Cedar Fair. Adventure Express used to be phenomenal and now you get the vibe they completely forgot it was there. Stunt Coaster's actually done an okay job retaining its theme but they uglied up the trains bigtime when they removed the decals (something I think should be expected here) and while the splash needed to be removed for corrosion reasons, it's still sad they couldn't have found a way to keep it. But the biggest offender here is The Bat. As Top Gun, it was amazing. Walking out there was a giant Gillette Mach 3 advertisement with a fighter jet on it, the station was really well-themed and hearing the Top Gun theme before you boarded did an awesome job getting you pumped to ride, it was incredible what Paramount did. However, once Cedar Fair came in, that ride got absolutely screwed. No more playing cards from the movie in the station, no more fighter jet ad walking out, and for the icing on the cake, they slapped that god-awful Flight Deck name on it. Sadly, I think this is what happens to the Intimidators.
Worth explaining: Cedar Fair picked up two copyright contracts with the purchase of the Paramount Park chains: Paramount Movies and Nickelodeon (The Mini Coopers being stripped down was actually apart of a larger legal case of Mini Cooper/BMW suing Freestyle Music Park in 2010 for copyright infringement). When these copyrights were up for renewal - which would have been a shload of money, Cedar Fair stripped names and retained as much theme as possible. Hence why Tomb Raider, The Outer Limits, Nickelodeon, Top Gun, Face Off, Italian Job, and other brands were retired.

As far as ditching the Intimidator brand, I don't think anyone would go missing for it. I like the thought of using Thunder Road.

I said to Darren the other day when we were discussing it I could see them using Thunder Road as a cheesy tagline or something.

Like Speed Demon: The Thunder Road.

That sounds so incredibly lame but I know what I'm going for. Like they wouldn't make it the whole name but I could see them incorporating it?

Bat was a bit different cause the original ride was gone years ago.

They'll just make them generic racing themes.
