IAAPA Expo 2024

Gutted not to be there this year. Love a good sheet pulling reveal. Although looks a bit underwhelming from what I’ve seen so far…but I’m only telling myself that to feel better.

Was anyone present to report on the Merlin panel? Very curious to know if there's more info on the Minecraft deal...

It’s unlikely. The first day is usually running around to the reveals and covering the bigger stuff on the floor. IAAPA does a Show Daily newsletter that’s typically available on their website the morning after each day. It might be covered in that or on the IAAPA socials.

Didn’t attend the Merlin one so can’t say anything.

Overall though day went remarkably well, as a first timer it was a pretty big experience, especially with a car being revealed for my home park (AlpenFury). Got to meet and chat with @ECG and a large handful of others, three more days on the floor for me.

Did get a little soaked during a mishap at one of the booths, I accidentally avoided a sensor that would’ve shut off a waterfall on a path. My wet mistake.

Not very many big pressers or car reveals as previous years I feel. Am aware that B&M cancelled something at the last minute, Legoland Florida was also pulled really early on. Arrived at a good time to get solid spots for AlpenFury, Tecuani Beast, and Proslide’s Hive announcements, everything was solid. Opening ceremony especially was a bit extravagant, had some nitpicks with the teleprompters and some AI art but asides from that theatrics are a great way to start the morning.
