How do you deal with the offseason?

I think sites likes this help, its always good to see other people's reports, construction updates etc.

Other than that watching POVs occasionally and just planning for trips next year.

I'll be on the forum a lot more and being a bit more desperate for updates. But apart from that, pretty much what I do every other day of the year.

Fun.

Planning for christmas always eats a lot of time, watching xmas films, cooking xmas food. Other than that will try and fit in a trip to Gullivers for their xmas event and waiting for updates on Helix.

Really jealous. I want to go there so much.

I spend the off-season working, socialising and finding parks that are still open.

A few years ago, it'd have been the adrenaline rush from the rides that I was missing. This year, the big kicker is not seeing much of my fellow CFers for several months. Living all the way up north does mean I'm quite out of the way, so I miss out on a lot of the non-park stuff such as the Christmas meet.

It doesn't help that I'm currently having to go easy on the spending at the moment, so I'm cutting back on other activities such as partying like a manic in Manchester every month.

In the meantime, I've got other things to keep me occupied, such as job hunting and developing some more geeky tech skills (in thrilling subjects such as Exchange Server, VMware and routing/switching). Oh, I've also just booked a few more driving lessons, so hopefully I'll be getting myself on the roads shortly. You may commence panicking now.

I have my ways...

*Work
*School
*RCT3/NoLimits/Coasterdynamix/Knex/PVC in the backyard/Cookie sheet and our stairs
*I'll need to be good enough at solo driving to get to Kings Island next April for Banshee
*Follow new ride construction

That pretty much covers the 2013-2014 offseason...

Job hunting, working at Sainsburys, socialising with friends away from theme parks...

It may seem like a long time but it'll be the 2014 season soon, especially once Xmas and new year are here. :)

I'm usually not that bad during the off-season.

University work keeps me occupied. But this off-season I'm particularly busy: I'm also beginning production on a few short films so there'll be a heck of a lot of paperwork to get stuck into, seeing friends and my family who I rarely get to see these days and - of course - the CF Christmas meet.

I'm from oz, so water park offseason is theme park season. I'd be interested in working at a park, so I use the offseason to look for employment opportunities and hiring for the new season.

The offseason is here once again, and it's really dragging along. Even though I try to focus on my other interests over the offseason, it's still a depressing time of year. Watching POVs, playing RCT3 and NL, and visiting coaster sites help a bit, but none of those can hold a candle to actually riding a coaster.

159 days until Valleyfair opens...

I visit the Efteling during its nicest and most atmospheric time of the year

Even Slagharen, Duinrell and Toverland are open off season I think. And then there's Phantasialand.

I go looking for another job because most theme parks in the uk don't do Christmas events.
