How are ORPs taken?

Nooby question, but oh well.

How do they take the pictures for ORPs? Is it done by a sensor or is it automatically set off a set amount of time after the train has left the station/a block brake etc?

^ ...because something (like an animal?) may have triggered the sensor. I remember back at GhosterFOURce when we had the Dragons Fury track walk, people kept on setting the ORP off as we walked past it.

It would be pointless having it on a timer since the speed of the train (and hence ride duration) varies between each dispatch, time of day, season in the year e.t.c.

Now I have a question for you Ciall. Please tell me, how in the hell do you pronounce your name? Because there are so many possibilities I can't pick one and it's driving me mad. Thanks =]

Sorry to post in a locked topic, but a little bit of pointless trivia....

The orps for Crystal Wings and the SLC at Happy Valley Beijing are (or at least were) taken by photographers. One stands under the lift hill for Crystal Wings, with the camera on a tripod, and there's another one under the final helix of the slc.
