What's new

Hong Kong Disney | "BGM Runaway Mine Cars " | Mine Train

Jake

Strata Poster
Looks like Disney got some sort of BOGOF deal on RC Racer in Paris... and the Mine train that has appeared for Florida.

http://rcdb.com/5279.htm

(I assume it's a mine train from the name, although I haven't looked around for any more info (CBA).

Both opening in 2012.

Yeah they're apart of these 3 new small area's. One of them is a carbon copy of the Toystory Playland in Paris.

Cant remember what the other 2 are, I'll have a fish in a bit.

Edit:

Grizzly Trail
Grizzly Gulch, Frontier Gold-Mining Town

The path along Grizzly Trail offers high-spirited frontier fun in an abandoned mining town called Grizzly Gulch, set amidst mountains and woods. The town was founded August 8, 1888 – the luckiest day of the luckiest month of the luckiest year – by prospectors looking to discover gold. Bears have now started causing havoc at the Big Grizzly Mountain Mining Company.

Key Technology and Creative Elements
• Guests visiting Grizzly Gulch are part of the action, experiencing hands-on water features, massive geysers and various leaking structures in the abandoned town.
• Life-size Audio-Animatronic® bears set the story in motion on Big Grizzly Mountain Coaster, an adventure aboard a runaway mine train through town. Guests careen backward down an incline that propels them through twists and turns, before a launch sequence “blasts” the mine train out of the mountain.
• A Wild West stagecoach, an old time Jail House, and the world’s largest nugget of gold provide fun photo opportunities.
• Guests can relax with a Wild West refreshment at the old Saloon or shop for mining supplies and souvenirs at the Bear Necessities merchandise stand.

Mystic Point

Mystic Point is the site of mysterious forces and supernatural events in the heart of a dense, uncharted rain forest.

In Mystic Manor, home to an eccentric world traveler and adventurer and his collection of exotic international artifacts, strange things are afoot as an enchanted music box releases its magical powers, thanks to a mischievous monkey.

Key Technology and Creative Elements
• Inside Mystic Manor, a trackless ride system enables vehicles to move “freely” about the attraction as the story unfolds. Audio-Animatronic® figures and special visual and audio effects help tell the story of mystical phenomena.
• Within Mystic Point lies a beautiful garden full of relics and mythological figures, where guests discover a hidden world of illusions and mysteries that trick the eye.
• Guests can dine at the Adventurer’s Club amid a vast collection of unusual artifacts from around the world or purchase exclusive curiosities and collectibles at the Archive Shop.

Toy Story© Land
Disney·Pixar-themed Play Area for Kids of All Ages

Andy, the young boy from the Disney·Pixar Toy Story films, has left his toys unattended in this immersive and highly themed environment, based on one of Disney·Pixar’s most popular film series. While Andy is away, the toys come to life and play...and Guests are invited to join!

Key Technology and Creative Elements
• Oversized outdoor rides and photo opportunities allow Guests to experience the different perceptions of scale, and shrink to the size of a toy.
• One attraction includes a shuttle coaster which propels Guests along a U-shaped style track.
• A drop-style parachute attraction lets Guests join a “training mission,” plunging from a 25m tall tower.
• Guests will enjoy fun, immersive and interactive environments with life-size toys.
• A themed food kiosk provides a barrel of fun snacks and refreshments and Guests can shop for Toy Story inspired collectibles at the merchandise location

Slightly, ever so, off topic, but, Mystic Manor looks absolutely fantastic.

I know they have said that they may not be able to afford the ride type "Trackless" anymore, that the cars may have changed, but the actual ride looks absolutely fantastic. It's going to be amazing no matter what they do with it.

I see Disney is continuing the tradition of having each park's Haunted Mansion in a different land!

I couldn't agree more!

How did that statement about the Mine Train Martyn posted not cause more excitment...?

That sounds AWESOME. It sounds very Expedition Everest, going backwards and then "launching" you out.

And the whole Grizzly Gulch thing sounds fantastic anyway!

I'm a little bit gutted I'll be missing all this by a year and it'll just be a construction site, but, it's not like I won't go back to Hong Kong at any point...

I LOVE Danny Elfman. His music is fantastic. Even Oingo Boingo are good. I'm really looking forward to Mystic Manor.

^^Because it's old news?

There's a whole topic on the new lands at Hong Kong Disney somewhere. I think I started it, but can't be sure, and **** ed if I know where it is now.

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

I love the faces of the guests in the first of the artwork pictures.

And urgh, that halfpipe looks vile... :(

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

I'm looking forward to seeing Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point completed, Toy Story can kiss my arse.

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

The Half Pipe has been like that for ages. It was done in August at least.

It also doesn't look like they've added much at all to the Mine Train... That was mostly there in August too.

Hurry it up Disney, I wanna see this bad boy done.

And Mystic Point <3

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

^I'm really looking forward to Mystic Point to be finished, just the artwork for it got me over-excited.

Well Toy Story Playland recently opened (according to Sue, only annual pass holders can get in). Clicky here for some photos of the area

Oh and RC racer is a great ride (been on the Paris version), looks horrible but it's a fun little launch coaster, just a shame the ride time isn't very long. The land also looks horrible from the outside but once in it really works, the theming is simple and fun.

Are we sure the two other lands are meant to be opening next year? They don't look anywhere near completion.

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

Grizzly Mountain still doesn't look very mountain-like.

My guess is they were expediting Toy Story Land to get it open ASAP. (The park as a whole is a bit of a joke, based on my visit in June.) Now that it is done, they'll probably pick up speed on the other two zones now.

It's amazing :(

I literally loved it, they just need more. What's there is amazing, they just need more.

Like Mystic Point and Grizzly Mountain <3

TSL looks meh, like the French one. Better cause it's not in France though. Still does my OCD how they have that and the seperate Buzz ride mind <////3

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

The joke is that there's so little there...

I was with two other people and we rode every ride there in under 3 hours. The park needs expansion, and quickly.

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

I'd call what they're doing pretty rapid expansion ;)

It's always worth remembering the same would have been said about ALL the Disney parks when they each opened. It's just how they roll.

Re: Half Pipe and Mine Train for Hong Kong Disney

Soo, it's going to have a splashdown. What does everybody think about that? Also I love the Intamin knockoff restraints. <3 It isn't Intamin right?

I found a Funworld magazine at work today, and there was a little article in there about this Hong Kong Disney expansion. Nothing too exciting, but it said that the two new area's, Mystic Point and Grizzly Trail, will only be exclusive to Hong Kong for 5 years...
