Holiday Park - Major coaster 2014

After browsing the official fansite forums of the Plopsa parks a random topic with not much info intrigued me. Apparently Plopsa (who, if you don't already know, now own Holiday Park) are planning on building a major new coaster at the park for 2014. Apparently it'll be something "unique and spectacular" and there have been negotiations with Intamin and Vekoma.

Something like iSpeed would be awsome, however the park needs a big family coaster, something like DiVertical would probably be a better fit.

I've always thought it was odd how this park only has one major coaster, and its a world beater...

Here's to hoping this will be just as good!

A Wing Walker (Baco) perhaps?

I woud also really like that some European park bought a flyer from Vekoma. I find them highly interesting and I bet Vekoma have improved their original design since Stealth and the other American flyers...

^ It's a shame that more parks haven't bought any more Intamin Wing Walkers. Baco really does provide for an extremely intense ride, it's a shame some people find it TOO intense ;)

How's it not Intense Marc? That launch packs one hell of a punch, followed by the airtime from the drop off of the launch... Then that Inline, which genuinely still is one of the more intense elements on a coaster I've rode...

The launch is intense. The airtime is "fun", but not intense (Rita's airtime is "intense" (Baco's is much better in my opinion)). The inline I don't remember anything other than horrid hang-time crippling my shoulders while the ride tried to break me apart with vibrations - not intense, just ****.

So yeah, the launch is intense. The rest is intense in the same way that being tapped on the should with a sledge hammer is a friendly way of attracting somebody's attention ;)

I don't know where you've randomly got an Intamin wing-walker and a Vekoma flyer from, as if you randomly spun a wheel of coaster types enthusiasts hate.

Both are generally seen as rubbish, with B&M now making much more popular and better models, so why would they get either?

^ Well, if you'd have bother to READ, you'd have seen that it was from a Member who said they'd like to see them, hence why we had a little discussion based on them.

Also, BOTH aren't seen as generally rubbish, rough, yet, not rubbish.

Cant remember if this has been mentioned already, but they're adding a little kids area for this year, as well as a new entrance plaza/area.

By the looks of that concept art, it will be an ice rink. Or they will ditch the coaster and spend the money on tarmac polish instead.

This isn't about the 2014 coaster, but more about this year. Just showing off the stuff they've been doing over winter, it doesn't really deserve it's own topic; New restaurant, refurbs for some kids rides and general improvements.

They're putting a lot of effort into this park, and the outcome looks pretty neat (as it always is with Plopsa).

I'm glad they're continuing with adding the theming - the place is a little odd with the mix of new Plopsa stuff, and the original Holiday Park stuff. It was quite at odds, but the Plopsa stuff really seems to stand out and look out of place.

The biggest issue is that there isn't really a massive amount to do there. Okay, we left early because the weather was crap and we thought we may as well get on earlier rather than later, but we'd also done everything and were walking the park again and again to find more to do not long after lunch time.

So it's great they're making it such a pleasant place to visit, but it's desperate for more attractions.

I like how much love this park is receiving from Plopsa as well.

As for the 2014 coaster, I hope they'll go with a big family coaster, maybe an Intamin Mine Train.

So far the park has said that the new coaster will replace the Vekoma corkscrew, and that it will be a ride for teens, so it will probably be something medium size with a few inversions.

But I agree that the park lacks a good family coaster. Sure the Wild mouse is there, but it's pretty wild, for smaller children.

Good move since this park is in desperate need of a new ride :) I think the obvious choice would be a euro fighter. Not too shabby choice imo. I thought Saw was good, the only thing bad about that ride was the restraints. And since the new euro fighters are lapbar only I believe they are great little rides! Sure a B&M inverter would be ace! But lets face it, this is a relatively small park attendance wise and since other Plopsa parks has gone with euro fighters this one probably will as well!
