I appreciate that some CFers are under the legal drinking age so this topic may be a bit irrelevant to them, but what the heck.

Have you ever had a few drinks at a theme park? Perhaps you weren't drunk, maybe you were in Holland *cough* and were stoned?

And before anybody complains, I am in no way advocating going to a theme park off your face. I'm genuinely interested to find out how many people have actually done so, especially as most theme parks have pubs/bars.

What effect did the drink/drug have on you? How much did you have? Did it improve your visit? Tell me your stories.

Visited quite a few parks in Scandinavia this summer whilst under the influence. A few of the parks were giving us free beer so it would have been rude not to have a tipple.

I've always liked having a drink at theme parks, it helps me to relax and chill out especially on a busy day or if I'm with friends. I don't think I'd ever go to a theme park and get hammered intentionally, and if I did I wouldn't feel like riding anything.

Going to a theme park hungover is definetly not good, and that happened a couple of times on the Scandi trip. I looked and felt like **** for a good portion of the day.

So in short, I like having one or two to relax, but no binge drinking.

Nahh, I typically don't really like drinking as it is, it has a depressing effect on me haha. Never been to one high either, but I expect that could be pretty interesting.

In Denmark I got 'slightly' ;) drunk the night before we went to Tivoli Gardens. It didn't seem to have any effect on me in the morning and it actually helped me get to sleep easier.
And also had quite a bit to drink at Bakken as well when they gave us the free beer although I didn't get drunk.

Admittedly, the only time I've been slightly drunk was at Cedar Point. However, both time was in the dorms and not the actual park.

Lucky for me there were no ill effects/I didn't get hung over.

At the risk of sounding slightly sad I booked the Chessington hotel last year with the intention of getting drunk in the Greedy Goblin and just enjoying the day and rides whilst having a good drink. Just me and my girlfriend and we had a great time.

Also whenever I go to AT, I always stay in the hotels for a couple of nights so I always end up having quite a few in the tavern whilst in the park seeing as I will be in the hotel bar later anyway, so I have rode Nemesis quite a few times whilst pissed and I have got to say it is pretty awesome.

I would actually go as far to say that a few drinks does probably make the ride experiences better although I am sure a few would disagree.

Also the best park to have a drink at by a mile is Port Aventura, they do Estrella and Budweiser on basically every corner and you can walk around drinking it as you want, don't have to stand in certain areas like the UK parks.

As for the stories? My favourite probably has to be me and my dad do an annual 'beer in every country tour' at the world showcase in Epcot so thats 11 beers in a few hours so thats pretty fun, and gets you pissed.

Another is at Port Aventura we must of had quite a few Budweisers and this bloke I met while out there couldn't handle it and was out his face then we all went on Dragon Khan and was sick mid-ride, luckily none of it went on me so I found this hilarious, the people behind him however did not!

I went to Cedar Point severely hungover once.

Those were some of the weirdest/awesome experience I've ever had on Magnum and Millennium Force.. lol

Last year whilst we were on Ecstasy me and a couple of friends rode the Waltzers on Brighton Pier. It was pretty amazing, watching the lights and listening to the music.

Not at a real park though... nah.

I've got high (stoned) at Alton Towers before. It was fun, but we got paranoid that someone would find out and kick us out.

Nemesis was actually good for a change though...

I don't think I've ever been drunk at a theme park. I've been on fair rides drunk which was sickly.

I was slightly drunk at Lightwater last weekend for the Live and also was quite drunk on Colossos at Heide Park. It's....hilarious to say the least =]

Not really much point in me trying to say no is there, I was off my head at my first couple of CF lives. Thought nobody had noticed too until I got that award at Ghosterforce "The pass it on the left award" - Gives a whole new meaning to riding high :-D

I'd actually convinced myself that it was the only way to enjoy riding coasters anymore and I was smoking a joint before I got on every coaster. It took coming to CF meets to make me realise that you can have fun without it.

Nowadays I hardly ever bother with it unless a mate calls down with some, never buy it myself anymore. Funny how times change, cartainly don't need it to enjoy a ride. Yes it does add to the experience but they are just as enjoyable without.

The nearest Ive come is getting slightly tipsy at Ashington village day. Was a fair there and I did the Rock 'o' Planes like that. Basically it turned into an egg puke wheel. Well thats what it felt like.

My dad treated me to one of those man-sized pint glasses of beer at PortAventura; I felt a bit drousy and that's about it really. I know someone who rode Oblivion after being stoned and he said the drop was about 200 feet longer.

When I was at Pleasure Beach a few years back when the England match was on the World Cup, some psychopathic fans was pushing each other on Valhalla and nearly fell in the water.

About it really :)

As much as I enjoy the odd drop of alcohol,I've never really considered getting bladdered at a park.

I've had the occasional pint or two,but left it at that, too much drink would result in everlasting trips to the loo.

Theme parks and getting drunk are just two things I've never really wanted to mix.

As for drugs,I havn't done them for years, but again,it's not something I'd want to mix with theme parks.

Plus I've had the occasional bad turn on drugs, and would rather be at home than in a park full of strangers.

I tend not to drink when I'm at parks. The only exception was Heide Park where we had free booze.

I've been to parks the day after an alcohol fuelled night out. In fact, I often combine trips to Alton or Blackpool with a weekend of clubbing in Manchester. Sometimes I can get away with it, especially if I didn't overdo the booze the night before, although once the Red Bull starts to wear off, I'm often exhausted.

I very nearly didn't make the Camelot CF live this year, as I'd had a full night out until 3am, and got completely hammered the night before. I felt like **** that morning.

I've never been pissed at a park but I have been tipsy. I usualy have a few social pints when I can afford to. I don't really have any stories to tell about drink.

I have been stoned on two occasions.

First was back in 2001 when myself and three mates went to Alton Towers.

We spent the entire day stoned, sitting on grassy areas rolling up and riding. The park was very quiet so we could reride with ease. It's the queuing that makes being stoned a nightmare at parks.

Again, no special stories to tell, I just so happened to be stoned and it didn't make the rides any different really.

The other time was at a CF-Live at Gullivers Warrington a few seasons ago. Sam and I went to the car at lunchtime, had a smoke and returned wearing sunglasses.

All I really remember is queuing up after lunch for some dark ride in hot sun eating a Feast. I felt paranoid.

Have not been stoned at a theme park since.

I've only ever had a beer once at a theme park that I can remember. I had a bottle of Becks about seven years ago at lunch at Alton Towers.

Other than that, I honestly can't remember ever having had a beer while at a park. Like gigs, I tend to drive to them, and I never drink and drive (not even a bottle). Alton was the exception as peer pressure pushed me into it, and I wasn't planning on leaving for another 7 hours. Still very unusual for me.

Anyway, because of that, I just aren't in the habit of drinking when at places like theme parks.

I have done parks hungover though (and PA probably still drunk from the night before :D ). It doesn't really add much to the experience except a lack of patience for the queues and a need to sit down lots and drink coffee :)

I've been stoned at Alton once or twice though, walking through the gardens. I don't like doing it for obvious reasons, and certainly haven't since becoming "an enthusiast" (so probably six years or so). Oddly, I've never treated smoking like drinking - but a couple of drags on a joint at midday is hardly the same as two pints. I mostly do it because it's an excuse to smoke and get a nicotine fix

^I didn't know CF had this many stoners

Admittadly, I've tried it myself for the experience only, and once when I was drunk whilst camping. It didn't do much apart from make me randomly hungry, and suffer from panic attacks later. But it's not as bad as getting off with a lady-man (apparently), after getting excessively drunk at Thailand with a group of Australian psycho dudes. They were cool; great sense of humour, but got me way too drunk. :)
